    I believe Micah/AF1 did - with/without the air box cover, good for + 5 h.p.

    venting to airbox

That how I handled it. Long hose with a filter on the end. Bike runs great, sound great.

Wow ! That opens up the nice trellis frame for viewing, not to mention potential for extra h.p.

Well, I was bored last night and had the bike already partially disassembled for something else, so pulled off the air box. Took some measurements, made some cardboard mock ups, and a K&N RC 2340 will fit perfectly on there. I'm off to pick one up and give it a try.

Hey look, it's a fake filter!

This is the dimensions of the RC 2340 filter listed.

Great for test fitting before going and buying anything.

So thanks to the great guys at Starcycle USA for helping me out with getting the filter on a Sunday(they only had RC 2344 in stock, which is the four pack of these filters, but sold me one and ordered an RC2340 to replace the one out of the box I took), here it is mounted up.

Yes, it's a small filter, but the filter surface area isn't any smaller than the oem filter and it's all that fits nicely in there without protruding way out.

I'll ride around with it like this for a bit to see if it performs, and if so, I'll make a carbon fairing/box/cover thing for it that protects from the elements, deflects the hot air from the radiator, and still shows the trellis frame. Maybe a little ram air scoop action too.

Great write-up. Filter looks like it was made for the area. A bit of an air scoop might work very well. Anxious to hear how it affects performance.

It really is. The taper angle of the filter just barely allows it to clear the starter. Hopefully I'll get the shiver headlight finished today because as of right now the bike is in pieces waiting for the new hid wiring harness and all the front end/headlight mounting changes.

Checked local auto parts stores, nobody here stocks anything close. Going to order online and do tear down once I have parts. How tedious is the airbox removal ?
