    Red panniers

Mrs Somersetjohnv is now the proud owner of a new red Futura. Part of the deal was a set of panniers thrown in. Unfortunately the dealers have told her that as recently there have been loads of offers for new bies with panniers include, Aprilia have run out of 02 red ones, and the 03 model red is a different shade. Does anyone know of a dealer with some in stock or even a good set of used ones? If not we will go down the Givi route as she needs luggage for commuting. I've got Givi on my Viffer so we can interchange if necessary. Has anyone got a Givi top-box fitted? Ugly I now but she needs something.

Congratulations to Mrs Somersetjohnv on her new bike. I would suggest that you keep pushing your dealer as the alternative route is not so easy. Givi do not do a fitting kit for the Futura. Nor do any of the other luggage people. One of the people on this board, "Wolfie", has successfully mounted the Givi top box using the Givi general purpose fitting kit (and a lot of skill and imagination!) I will try to find the link and post it here. (Unless someone else posts it first.)

    Found it,

Have u had a look at how the black Apilia panniers go with the mrs's red bike?

The Aprilia bags are excellent yet reasonably narrow. After all, what colour are the Givi ones?....

Yeah, keep looking for a set of Aprilia bags

    >>The Aprilia bags are excellent yet reasonably narrow. <<

No only is this true, but the angle of the bags' tops is much better suited to the shape a passenger can tolerate both while mounting the bike and while riding. This is just one of those small things that make the Futura best in class.

Thanks guys, I think the black panniers are worth following up. I just can't believe that there aren't any matching panniers anywhere in the Aprilia system .
BTW, I am slightly more literate than my last post suggests - this b***** eyboard hates "k"

Looks like you keep them BossBob. Our friendly dealer has located some red ones ...in Italy. So while we wait for them to arrive it will have to be a tank bag and a cargo net.
Anybody got a tank bag, any condition?
