    Need a quiet exhaust

    I have a 2001 sr50 ditech with a 70 kit.

It is important for me for the scooter to be quiet. It currently has a performance exhaust that is loud and I would like to replace it.

I would appreciate recommendations for the quietest exhaust option. Is it the standard exhaust?

Or perhaps something like this? http://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/p...01__03-51.aspx

    All advice appreciated.

    Dave

The LeoVince ZX-R isn't louder than stock, if any, at all. It just changes the tone to a deeper one.

that Tecnigas you have linked to there should do what you want. It won't have the same performance that a performance exhaust will (obviously), but is still better than stock, and should definitely be quieter. I haven't read of anyone with that exhaust on a 70cc setup, so if you do go that direction, please let us know how it goes!
Which 70cc do you have, by the way?

Im using a Silent Pro exhaust on my 70cc Morini Ditech.

Its running fine, but a bit noisy compared to other 70cc non injection machines with the same exhaust

Thanks for the suggestions to date.

The current exhaust seems to be a Leo Vince ZX. I've attached a picture. Would the ZX-R be considerably quieter than what I have now?

I'm not sure which 70 kit it is - it was on the scooter when I bought it. Is there an easy way to tell?

I've seen mention of replacing the packing in the exhaust - would this be an option worth considering?

    Many thanks

From what the members here that have it have reported, yes it will be quieter then the ZX.

As for the engine, look at the Cylinder. Malossi is larger then the stock cylinder and has the word MALOSSI stamped into it. If it’s a Polini, it looks like the stock cylinder (size wise) and I believe it also had its name stamped on it.

The packing needs to be replaced approx. every 50 hours of ridding time (according to the makers of the pipes). You can change it, but you won’t get a BIG change in the sound. The ZX-R will be your best bet to reduce the noise levels to close to stock…

I made enquiries with a dealer I've used successfully in the past but they don't stock the ZX-R for this model. They have suggested the Yasuni R or Yasuni Z exhaust and tell me either will be a little quieter than the ZX-R.

Does anyone have experience of these - is it right that they would be quieter?

I do know that they're more expensive!

    Thanks

    Dave

ZX-R is definitely quieter than regular zx. I recommend it.
