    Ideas please.

I'll throw this at you guys because you're more inventive than the grown ups.

Next month I'll have had my ER-6f for three years. That's usually time to change it. I like the bike and it's in really good condition - I maintain it myself - and I really can't see anything I want to change it for.

Any ideas? no heavier, no wider, no slower. It has to be be similar but better all round. Otherwise I'll keep it and see if there's anything new next year. In about 5 years I'll retire. If I've still got it then I'll swap if for a Harley 1200 Sportster just for fun, but I'd rather find something good enough to persuade me not to do that.

Its a middle of the road bike with 70 odd HP, just like your ER6f. How about a new SV650S?

Or a Shiver? I'm curiously tempted by the Mana 850, not sure why. By wider, I take it you've done BMW, and got over it? But like the others say, a supermoto could be fun.

What is it you're after rob?

    What seating position?
All out sports bike? greenlaner? or just something comfy to get to work on and you can thrash through the lanes at the same time?

Supermoto is out because commuting in UK weather needs a fairing. I don't really like them for long motorway trips either.

I liked the Cagiva 650 Raptor but there's no aftermarket fairing available.

I'm looking for an ER6 or SV650 that's not either of those. There's no point in replacing a perfectly good bike with another one of the same. The SV has been replaced anyway by that Gladius thing, which isn't as good.

The Mana is out because of the loss of fine control that goes with a centrifugal clutch. Might take a closer look at the Shiver.
