Some pics from a couple of short-ish rides back in June/July.

freezing wind in the morning died down about lunch time leaving a constant 7 deg C and a bright sunny day.
First trip was round by the local airport and back to town.

    The road outa' town.

At the airport - some light planes practicing their 'touch and goes'. Hmmm... the planes didnt show up so good in the pics.

2nd weekend, this time on my lonesum so, for better or worse - more pics !! - any excuse to go a bit slower in the cold !!.

    Weather same as previous weekend.

This time headed out the road we came back on last weekend

A small creek with foot bridge (or push bike bridge). THought about taking my Peg over but not confident the bridge would handle the weight of me and my trusty steed. And there was too many people round the adjacent picnic area.

Some cows peacefully muching in their paddock beside the road, one of their more fiesty mates had got out and was running this way and that on the road. Had plenty of warning (nearly 1 km) from a mine vehicle coming the other way so lots of time to slow right down as the steak-on-legs bolted out in front of me. No pics of him as was busy dodging and stopping.

Some sheep. I'm guessing the grass is greener in some paddocks than others due to improved pasture or native grasses. And of course none of it nearly as green as Biker64 pics.

Foresty track for another day when the ground not so muddy. Yeah, Ok, so call me chicken.

Hasnt rained for about 2 days, but this 10 km stretch of road area is so shaded by the forest trees that puddles still beside the road, and the tar is still wet at 2:30 in the arvo. hasnt had any direct sun at all this time of year.

Another dirt road - My attemp at an 'arty' pic nearly foiled by the sun.

Another creek, with a 2m depth measure for flooding. The 2m mark hasnt seen much use the last year or two.

Facing back up the same creek, looks like local council been pulling out invasive Willow trees to allow native growth to make a come back.

A small rest area on the edge of town with a large rock and memorial plaque, complete with 2d artificial cows!! More predictable than there live counterparts beyond the fence !!

Ok, another attempt at arty pics. the road coming and going, and my photo equipment - a cheap samsung mobile phone camera. In sunlight, I cant actually see what is in the view finder, so just point and hope, but it does have the advantage of being almost unbreakable if dropped !!

Weather definately into spring now. Warmest Sydney temp recorded for this time of year ever according to the news.
Hope you guys made the most of your summer to go riding!!

Went for a 300 km ride last Saturday with a group of locals. About 18 bikes of all kinds from cruisers and road bikes to dual sports. Should have some pics sorted later this week - if I havnt bored everyone to death already.

A2 - is Hillend still on last weekend of this month? You still going? Looks like can get across on Saturday.
Hmmm - Is there (Telstra) mobile coverage out the bridle track?

    cheers
    Vic

Hey Vicki, check your PM at the top right hand corner of the main page.I sent you the flyer for the rally.I'm definately going unless it's pouring down. What time Saturday do you think you'll be going.I'm leaving on Friday but might camp overnight at Abercrombie River and get there on Saturday.I'll probably be going through Bathurst around 10ish on Saturday.

    Cheers

Yes Vicki I PM'd you about something a few days back. Can't remember what it was now. Short term memory not good these days, have to check my watch to see what day it is.

10ish - or a tad after - sounds good. Have one or two others coming for the run and will be meeting another friend in Bathurst who is coming over as well, so will pass along the time and .... where at ? Maccas or something similar? where do you suggest ?

Yee it seems most of the guys log in only when their Peg doesn’t run as it should be

Yesterday I got pairs of GAERNE (like Lisa’s) pleased with it

How many miles or km did you do that day?
