Video from the last race at Texas World Speedway

I finally got around to editing this.

    "high res":
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGGETYYy9d8&fmt=18

    My caveats:

    • My forward looking camera crapped out after 3 laps
    • The rearward looking camera is shaky as hell
    • This was the first race of the day, my racing lines often suck

What I love about this video:

    • The Black Keys (the featured band in the vid) kick total ass
    • I love watching the reflection of my helmet in the tach
    • It's an invaluable training tool to have eyes in the back of your head and see where your opponents are making time on you, I will lose 3 seconds off my lap times at that track next year

Sorry, but the music is badass. Those little cameras don't do the engine noise justice.

The racer mentality that allows you to tip into turn one so close to the other bike...

It is the point of demarcation between a trackday rider and a racer.

If I'm that close to somebody when leaned over all I'm thinking is "That M*****F****ER is going to crash and I will be pulverized by 440 lbs of old crapped out Suzuki."

They're the GoPro cameras. They work ok, but the sound could be better.

Are those gsxr600 you are racing against? It looks like you pass most of them on the straight, gsxr1000 would pull away unless you have juice on your bike.

750s with a few 600s in the backfield (and the leader!). The RSVR should be directly competitive with I4 750s depending on the rider.

    Thanks for stealing my thunder.

    Nice vid, Tedmundo.

Ted is in fast company here, the two bikes he passed in the 2nd part were experts starting in the 1st wave (white plates). Everyone running in the 1:50ish range. Bike 168 (who Ted passed at the finish and 803) were both 600's. Bike 710 who Ted passed a little earlier was a GSXR 750.

Ted - I didn't see where anyone was catching you but you're a little wide through 4, and a little wide through the entry of 1, even though you passed 803 up the inside there on lap 5 or 6. The big RSVR rules the 800-yard straight at TWS!

Again, nice vid and nice riding, we'll see you in the first wave next yr!. Watching that makes me itch to get back out there...

    Thanks for stealing my thunder.

Did not mean to do that. You rode a good race and I am glad to see Aprilias towards the front. I have a 2001 and I struggle with the modern 600's on the straight. But I weigh 200 lb. However I make up ground in the twisty part of the track. I am surprised they allows 1000 cc V2 to race with I4 600's. Anyways, wish you great results in the future.

P.S. Where did the other Aprilia end up?
