I'm aware about past time from last post here
Fully agree with above but... ;-)
...decided to spent some amount and effort to make SC250ie much better. Truth is that I could buy much better bike for spent money but this wasn't my goal. Main modification:
I swap engine (actually rear end) with Bev350ie engine and get 33hp instead stock 22hp. Put Polini hi-speed variator for better delivery of power to rear wheel. Put Puig sport visor for comfort and better aerodinamic. Put 300grams handlebar weight from Bev300.
...and next is fixing front fork performance. After taking fork apart and measure I found that Racetech gold valve fork emulator FEGV S3501 would fit. Additional 6 holes for high speed compression would be added to damping rod, oil with more weight and new harder springs.
As I said I'm aware it's now "slightly illegal", "little bit" expensive and that's many my working hours and effort spent but now is helly fun to ride it in city traffic and shorter trips;-))

Many of us use the Puig OF6025H Sport Fairing which can give you quite a large performance boost when its adjusted properly. Too many try to set it up like a Windshield which it is not as it is a Sport Fairing which should be raked back at an angle and should be below eye level.

Here is a picture of mine before I got it finally adjusted about an inch lower so the bottom edge is now below the silver handle bar cover:

However that is not the Puig OF6025H for the Sport City which is contoured so it installs in a more swept back fashion and is cutaway a bit differently on the sides to better divert air over and around you. One may find that the larger flatter one pictured above may offer more wind resistance and reduce the performance of the bike especially at higher speeds. When I installed the OF6025H it made my Sport City 250 a pleasure to ride on the Interstate since I was now able to keep up with the flow of traffic where the posted speed limit is 75 MPH (the actual flow of traffic is closer to 85 MPH) with little other mods to the bike except for an additional spacer on the stock variators boss and Dr Pulley Sliders.

This is what a Puig OF6025H for the Sport City looks like and its available from our forums sponsor and on Amazon:

Whats harder is to contemplate is all that money and effort for what appears only a moderate increase in performance and ending up with a somewhat hacked up bike that's now much heavier in the back.

Before flushing time and money down the toilet one should start with the Puig OF6025H Sport Fairing and not the flatter one and look into the Sliders on the stock variator first. Then if you feel you still need those few extra MPH and want to add all that extra weight to the bike consider canibalizing a BV 350. I have ridden both the BV350 and BV500 along with the Scarabeo 500 ie and find the balance far superior with the SC250.

How much over 96 mph are you getting now? I am not the only reviewer who has confirmed that the 2009 Sport City 250 is capable of speeds in the mid 90's especially with the right fairing on it. Are you getting an extra 5 mph, 10 mph or more? Is that extra 5 or 10 mph then worth it. If you are not getting much more than 95 mph top speed why bother? Does the peak torque of the 350 being at 6000 rpm drop off as you head up to peak hp rpm of 8250 rpm limiting top speed? Do we need a scooter that goes over 100 mph? Here there is no place to legally ride one unless you ride lawlessly. To be frank Balki with the way you ride harassing other riders, cutting off cars, speeding and doing so at what appears to be at many times double the posted speed limits according to your video how much risk are you at from local law enforcement?

The Polini Variator has a cult following but is said to wear out faster than stock so why bother when you can get similar to better performance for less money along with greater durability by staying with the stock variator and using Dr Pulley Sliders?

If one puts a 350 in a small bike and it does not perform as well as not only my own but others 250cc Sport City bikes which is what you are appearing to be saying then who really has a problem? I am not getting why after all is said and done you are not getting much better performance for all your hard work.

As I said I made all this for fun- and ensure you that fun in riding SC350ie is present from start, acceleration and mid range acceleration 'till top speed. Most of scooters except BMW C600 and T-Max class don't have any chance in city. I really would like to meet your SC next to me having my GoPro active but you're one continent too far;-)
