    Still collecting.....
Finally dug up a set of good straight plug heads this past month, along with another GT750 engine....as if I need more things to fix.
Still need to get a set of billet power valves, then I might start working on it, instead of collecting parts.

Two stroke addiction is all I can say.

I saw this project RGV on eBay the other day and your thread just happened to pop up and remind me of it. Maybe good for parts or restoration.

Actually, I didn't pay much more for the two 95% complete bikes, and extra parts I picked up. Than what he wants right now, for his 60% complete single bike. I emailed him with a few questions....he never gave me any answers. I see it's on Ebay again for the 4th time now...it would make a good street fighter though...

All the factory body work I have now on it, and all other parts that I could find back in one place again...

    MY VJ22FL closer to usefulness.....

Factory original bodywork on from Japanese auctions...still need a correct color original paint tank.
Fresh slicks ready for newly powdercoated wheels, with new bearings. Will need a new non o-ring chain, to gain sidewall clearance for the 160 slick, over the stock 150 tire. Putting a 3.5 (3.0 stock) front wheel on from a RF600 so the 120 front slick will fit, but tight fender clearance could be a problem?

Bike will be street ridden, so the Shinko slicks will be an experiment. Anyone ever try these for dry street riding?

Slicks on the road? Surely you cannot generate enough heat into them for them to work properly.
And don't modern slicks need tyre warmers first to stop them from cold tearing.

The rubber on these tires is the same for the Hookup they make which is a sticky STREET compound (good for several thousand miles or more) The only difference is they don't have the holes throughout the tread to be considered street tires.... I'm not racing on the street, and don't ride it if it's going to rain. Maybe 300-500 miles a year at the very most. I've heard people say slicks won't work on the street....but how many have actually tried it to see what actually happens?

What will happen, possibly an accident.
Not the health and safety police, but again slicks are designed to be used in a certain way for them to work properly.
Are they marked 'not for highway use'?
So say you had an accident with those tyres on, here in the UK, my insurance company wouldn't want to know, then the police would be having a word, with then a trip to the local courts and if someone else in said accident was really hurt, maybe prison to follow.
Save em for a track day. Better to be save than sorry.

Seen guys riding street bikes in Malta with slicks, and looking at the shape of them they were running at temp
They were on gixer 750s 1000s and blades so they do give the tyre arses a bit more of a kicking than a 250
