All manufacturers rate the power at the crank...and many times a bit optimistic...
Using a Dynojet dyno, gives you numbers for whats actually hitting the ground....which really has more meaning to real world use.

My RZV500R after being in pieces for over a year....
All together, engine broke in now, and ready for tuning the Zeel to get all the power I can out of this 35 year old engine design.

Having a problem finding anyone who has ignition and powervalve curves that they will pass along, to help speed up the tuning on it.

    Looks absolutely gorgeous.

I did not have any power valve curves myself when i tuned my bike on the dyno, but here is what worked well for me:

so i thought i would come back to this post i made, almost a year and a half later

i just thought i would show the following to show that for the most part, it does indeed work.

take a look at the below dyno runs

reading the legend, i did a run at 0% pv's (red curve), 66% pv's (brown curve), 100% pv's (blue curve), and then noted the crossover points to map the zeeltronic. at that point i did the final run with the curve that i programmed. the final run is the green curve, and you can see how it takes the best of each part of the curve.

I think perhaps the next thing to play with if i wanted is fine tuning where around the 66% / 60% / 70% produces the best midrange, and maybe I can play with that stepping a bit to make it near perfect.

however, i am still on the stock 23d70 ignition map, so we will see what happens if i start to add some timing to take advantage of the avgas.
As far as ignition timing goes, I don't have recommendations for that.

caution: the use of motorcycles may be habit forming. side effects include purchasing multiple examples of the same bike, in different states of tune, different years, or different models altogether. some motorcycles may be not running when purchased. some parts are no longer available. there are rare instances where aprilias are bought over the internet and upon arrival, they are not as were originally disclosed. there is a small group of people who cannot handle two stroke engines and motorcycle maintenance. if this is the case, you may not be a candidate for Aprilia RS250's.

Thanks, for a simple two stroke, it was pretty damn complex.

How do the points on the Zeel correlate to the graph?
You have the valves at 0% until 6600 then open to 66% at 6800...? and so on

Here are some numbers for the RGV VJ22
I have a somewhat similar curve as the last one on my VJ23, but based on the Sugaya curve.

    thanks dude

truth is, i haven't really even begun to tune the thing yet. .. it's still on stock RS250 ignition timing, and the jetting i set it up with. i highly doubt i've nailed the jetting perfectly on the first shot, and i'm pretty sure there's a little more left in it if i adjust the timing and pulse the main jet solenoid to lean / richen as needed...

The dyno guy I go too, has been booked up solid for months...and now it's racing season (drag racing)....
Hoping to get in yet this July.
Bike runs incredible after 6000, but below that needs some work....changed the pilot jets but not much difference...needles next.
Getting to them to change is a serious pain....

But for some reason I keep trying.
