EFI Lıght and strange readıngs on the dash!

Currently rıdıng through Turkey and havıng a great tıme although bıke ıs takıng a real poundıng on the Turkısh roads - the potholes and bumps are outrageous!
Anyway just got to Istanbul to get bıke servıced and suddenly had EFI lıght comıng on and off whılst rıdıng. Also the dıals go crazıng and the dıgıtal readıngs are all over the place. On one accasıon the whole dash went off completely for a few seconds before comıng back on. After stoppıng bıke and re-startıng all ıs okay for a whıle before ıt happens agaın.
Found an Aprılıa garage who plugged ın the dıagnostıc gızmo but no errors are recorded?

    Any ıdeas? possıble battery problem?

Sounds like you may have shaken a connector loose somewhere possibly on the dash itself due to the crap roads. have you connected the two leads together under the riders seat to see if it brings up an error code ? The worst problem could be that the pounding from the roads has cracked one of the printed circuit tracks on the dash printed circuit board or possibly a bad soldered joint on the board. Steve

    Dave,
Next time it happens, pull in the clutch lever and let the bike coast. If the symptoms stop, check your side stand and spring. That severe pounding could be causing the stand to bounce and activate the side stand switch momentarily. No blown fuse here - that would make the condition permanent till the fuse was replaced.

Thanks for the suggestıons, i wıll keep an eye on it over the next few days. Just had the bıke servıced and he dıd say that the negatıve battery connectıon was not completely tight so i'll see what happens now.

Must say that garages ın maınland Europe seem to do a much better job than any garage ıve found ın the UK. The place in Istanbul ive just been two found that one of the spark plug leads was not fitted properly (after the last servıce in the UK) so ive been runnıng on 3 plugs for the last 4000 miles!

My bike had similar symptoms caused by a loose ground connector on the right-hand side of the engine. It's under the plastic, so I didn't know it was there.
