What are the improved crank bearings?

I'm sorry, I can't remember what crank bearings many say to install when the oem ones wear out.

I think they are of better quality or something.

Acutally we can't tell if there is a quality difference or if the premature wear comes from the compressor which make a pressure on the crank.

I put SKF in mine and seems to be ok after 6000km
    2001 SR50 Ditech (Morini)
    31'220 km (engine 8070km)
Top speed : less than 80km/h (belt needs to be replaced)
7 gr. rollers & stock exhaust
    Castrol TTS (fully synth.)
I use any type of fuel

    i did it after 10000km...
the problem is that the left one on the crank is thinner than the one on the right side.... so the one on the pull side whit all the load on is the week one and the one at the waterpumb side is the strong one.... stupid italian...

all the load will still be on the week side (left side) whit the small bearing
as long the ball is smaller in the left side it will fail before the right one
the pull is not even so pretty quick you will get some slag in the left side

no the right thing to do is to fit a big fat one in the left side maybe a needle one...there is plenty of room and metal to do it... right

In any case, thats the occasion to replace the bearings (and may be crank). You don't want to install the kit and get it downed one month later because of the old bearings...

Motoforce or Barikit will be fine (approx 150 bucks the crank). The must have (whatever the crank you buy) is a reinforced silver neddlecage (Malossi, Stage6, around 15 bucks).

@Speedway : Do you have an idea of the room left in the left bearing sit ?

Isn't reinforced supposed to be stronger than standard ?
Thats what I run on my Malossi 50 since 13000 kms...
