It appears that he domain name caponord.com is now up for sale.

Folks, if you have a domain name and forget to re-register it, the domain name reseller vultures are out there waiting.

Going rate for an interesting domain name is $5000 US.

    AtomicTape

    Howdy!

I found some Magic at the Boat show.
    It is called: Atomic Tape.
    http://www.ATOMICTAPE.Com

I Didnít know where to post this item.
It is heat proof to 500/deg.
    Insulates to 8000 Volts
    Withstands 700/psi.
    Air & Water Tight
AND, it is cohesively self bonding with no stickem Glue.

This stuff comes in different colors, and it looks like a roll of electrical tape.

I would like to see a sticky for the common major fixes for the leading electrical problems with the Capo, i.e. Brown connector, starter solenoid, and rectifier. I searched for and found them but it took a long time.

New Information as of Nov.8, 2010 below ...

Tuneboy is written, sold, & supported via their web pages. They ship the orders from their home in Australia. Wayne & his wife (& new baby) are the whole company.

Wayne races Triumphs & has friends with current-model KTMs. These are the motorcycles that he can readily test his software changes against. I do not believe he has ready access to a Caponord or Futura anymore. This is probably the reason that he is silent to Caponord owners requesting support. He can't duplicate your issue at his location, so there is little chance he can fix a Caponord owners problem in his code. He is very active on the Triumph tuning forums.

I do not recommend that Caponord owners actually install the most current version of the Tuneboy software that is sent to you with your order. It probably will NOT communicate with a Caponord correctly.

The versions of Tuneboy that we here on this forum have been successful with our Caponords are available online from Tuneboy users; The older 2.4 version that works best with the older tuneboy serial-port interface cable (like I have), and a newer 3.9.1 version that works best with the modern tuneboy USB interface cable.

Tuneboy is geeky software with an external hardware interface (the cable). It has a steep learning curve, even when reading the (not-obviously Triumph-dominate) documentation several times. Those Caponord owners who are not geeky enough to figure it out with help from this forum, will NOT be happy with Tuneboy's Caponord support.

If you can get one of the versions above working with your PC, cable, & Caponord we can probably walk you through any actual use or download issues.

January 13, 2011 Update - TuneECU versions of my catfish maps are now available at the same web page.

    Good luck!

    2011 revised Catfish maps ...

I have made a few changes to the map I'm running in my Caponord. All versions of my maps can be found at the usual place; <http://www.endorphin-express.com/capo/maps.html>.

Minor changes have been made in several areas, but the most noticeable change is a softening or smoothing of the torque at low rpm, idle to 2000 rpm. I wanted my Capo to have a smoother throttle response at low rpms and small throttle positions. This makes it easier for me to be smooth when I have a passenger on the back.

I can now close the throttle and let the motor drop to idle in any gear without any drama or having to pull the clutch lever in. Just crack the throttle open to slowly & smoothly accelerate away.

I can't guarantee the same results in your Capo, as they all flow a little differently. This low-rpm smoothness was best achieved with the exhaust CO set to 3% at idle on _my_ Capo. Your Caponord may vary.

    Good luck,

    Catfish ...

thats great, thanks catfish - just one question, assuming all is equal in terms of riding style/engine loads/IFT settings ETC,ETC would you expect more, less or the same fuel economy?

p.s. the rev limits in your updated map are back to standard - is this intentional?
