Bike will idle but won't rev up

I posted this in another list but I need to get this fixed. We are racing this weekend.
    Has anyone had this problem?
It's a 2006. The bike will start just fine and idle nice. As soon as you touch the throttle it dies. Bam, dead and only gains about 100 RPM. I have checked or changed everything and don't know what else to check.
Please tell me it's something simple.
    Thanks

Did you have the airbox off recently?

Yes I did. So when it started this I changed the whole airbox and it still does it. Then I changed the tank in case it was the fuel pump. I guess the throttle bodies are next.

Different bike altogether, but I had exactly the same symptoms when my TPS finally "died" (after a long illness) on my FZ6. Just a thought.

Hope you get it fixed in time

The only stupid easy thing I can think of that will do that is the bypass tubes. The one closest to the front will fit nicely on the blocked off port on the bottom of the airbox (just in front of where it should be). I don't think it would idle too well though.

    Thanks but that's not it.
I have now changed Ign. box, throttle bodys, gas tank and air box. Nothing has worked yet. Next I am going to change cam and crank sensors. If that doesn't work then the wiring harness and coils. I'll do that in the morning it's 2:00am and I'm tired.

I sorta went through this.... turned out to be a "flipped" banjo to the tank.

make sure your tank/fuel lines are all correctly realined... my only advice.

I guarantee it is something simple. The bike was fine before you started fucking with it, right...? So, it has to be a line/hose/cable misplaced, or improperly replaced.

If it's a 2006 isn't it still covered under Aprilia warranty?

    Thanks for the help everyone.
I ended up replacing the wiring harness with a new one and that did it. We draped a new harness over the bike and hooked everything up and it fired right up and ran great. So then we hooked the old one back up and it didn't work so we just put on the new one and it's fixed. Some where there is a broken wire I guess.

    Hey

Check fuel pump hoses, They have a tendancy to come loose or crack.

If i knew how to help i would friend.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
