I have an SR50 Ditech and I am going to change the gearbox oil and the Spark Plug soon for my first time. I am not sure what the gap needs to be for the plug??? Please Advise as to what i need to set the gap to. Any help would be appreiciated, Thanks

The manual suggests a .9mm gap, but most people have had better luck with something smaller, more like .5mm or .55mm. Mine is set at .6mm with good results.

My dealer told me that I had set the wrong gap at 0.9mm...then I told him it was in the manual...and he didn't believe me!

He said it should be about 0.5 mm, which is what I normally run to good effect.

Heh, you should have whipped the manual out right there and shown him. But it wouldn't matter, because whatever the manual says, .5mm is a much better gap. Its good that he knew the truth, even if he was mistaken about the manual, rather than just spouting info from the manual like many other dealers.

Do we all agree on the .5-.55 gap? Does anyone else run a different gap with better results. I 'think' mine is at .7 at the moment, think I might adjust it down to .5 or .55 and see how it goes.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone runs something differnt.
