On my other bikes I have used a product put out by Tankslapper. You can find them at www.thetankslapper.biz. The product is a very thin....clear plastic sheet that goes on your tank...keeps it from being scratched...and is....99.987% invisible.
I have written them to see if they made on for a Caopnord. The person I talked to said that he would go to a local Aprilia dealer and cut a pattern for a Caponord.
If such a thing interests you e- mail them at:

teck@thetankslapper.biz

I am sure they would be more likely to do this if they got some responses from someone other than me.

Let me know what you think of the product. I put it on the tank and side panels of my Fjr1300 I just got rid of and liked it very much....especially were one's legs rubs against the gas tank.

In the USA, 3M markets a plastic film called StonGard both to protect paint finishes on the gas tank, and also to protect headlights from stone chips/breakage. It's available all over.
