Hello,

I`m also a strada owner and I would like to know if the adjustable fairing screen was an optional or standart.
It was buy in your aprilia dealer?
What was it price?

Best regars,
Paulo Cardoso

Hello Paulo !
The fairing screen is an official Aprilia part : it's an option for the strada and it's stock with the pegaso trail.
The price is around 120 €.

Great looking bike octopus..

I don't suppose you have some good close up pics of the rear brake assembly? Looks like a considerable revision.

The rear brake is brilliant on the Strada too.

The Brembo set ups on the front and rear are standard. Just another example of Aprilia's attention to detail!

Strada photos! Can you tell which handguards you got on there? I ordered the akrapovic ones but your's look nicer, and considering the price of akrapovic's I bet they are cheaper too :)

I got them from M and P for £14.99. Had to make up a couple of metal bars 'cos the guards can't get close enough to the brackets supplied. Easy job and they work quite well. The carbon ones look good, maybe a bit big but £90 is a bit steep!

I want a rack like yours but it doesn't look like the Aprilia part I have seen. You have the supports underneath.

This is what I have seen for sale but it doesn't look like yours.

Help please

The rack shown in the phto is the same as the Aprilia one that I had fitted by the dealer when I brought the bike. If you look at teh drawing on your link, there are 2 holes shown in the plates that form part of teh rack. The rack comes with 2 bolts that go through these holes into the supports you refer to.

Could it be the Hepco & Becker rack? Click on the PDF file "Gepäckbrücke schwarz Lock it System" on this site:-

http://www.hepco-becker.de/_eng/frameset.php

You can order these from here:-

Its not the Hepko Becker. It does not have the extra support bars that run down between the exhausts.

Keith - do you have any photos of your rack please mate.

I dont have pictures I'm afraid. I will take some if you really want, but its exactly the same as the one shown at the begining of this thread, right down to the Givi top box plate.

My bike was fitted with the Aprilia rack (without the extra supports) when I bought it with the small top box. I think its a poor design and needs the extra supports. I've now took it off as the vibration and flexing resulted in stripping the threads on the aluminium sleeve that the middle bolt screws into causing the box to bounce up and down just on the outside two fixings.

Clotted Cream - I bought my bike from Bridge in Exeter too. I was in there on Saturaday and they have the new silver coloured Strada. I prefer my Black one though.

Kev, here's a picture of the official Aprilia rack which I had fitted from new.
It has a cheap no-name top box plate fitted.

The one I had fitted is exactly the same as that but without the lower support bars. It makes me think they were left off by the dealer!:WTF:

Xeno, I've just checked and the struts are, in fact, seperate from the top and bolted to it. If I were you I would either approach your dealer or email Aprilia direct for the supports. I bet you get them.

Athelstan - Thanks for that I will definately speak to the dealer about it.

I've got the Aprilia rack paired up with Givi side case mounts and the rack came with the support brackets.Get in touch with the dealer as it seems you've been robbed!

With reference to the Chaft mirrors on Octopus_nines's bike I managed to find some Chaft mirrors on a French website, but not the exact ones like on his picture. Also i was unsure what fitment i needed. So instead I looked closer to home and fitted Aprilia mirrors from an SXV. These are the same mirrors as on the RXV and the newer Tuono's. Have a look here http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104758
I worked on the principle that most SXV and RXV owners are racing the bikes and don't use the mirrors. I managed to sell my original mirrors for more than I paid for the SXV ones, bonus.

Yes that is Kozjak. I often go there because there is very good twisty road with few straight sections where you can reach 130Km/h, and best of all there is no traffic, very fun for driving.
Macedonia is full of these kind of places, I happened to know most of them since i work in telecommunication engineering company and there is no mountain in my country where a haven't been. I will post some more pictures.
If you are looking for places for holiday try Ohrid.

I think the mirrors on scorpio's are standard equipment, as on all the new 07 Pegasos. I had the round mirrors as standard but wasn't that keen on them, so I looked at what was fitted to other Aprilias. They are the same mirrors as on the SXV, RXV and the newer Tuono's. Have a look here http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104758
I worked on the principle that most SXV and RXV owners are racing the bikes and don't use the mirrors so i put out a shout on the the SXV RXV forum on here and found someone near by who was selling them. I also managed to sell my original mirrors for more than I paid for the SXV ones, bonus.
