Ciao tifosi...

I guess most of you already have seen this beauty but if you by any chance have missed it here we go...

Laverda is owned by Aprilia and from 2004 there will (according to rumour) be three bikes in the lineup, this Street Fighter, a Supermotard based on the Pegaso 650cc in the style of KTM Duke and Ducati Multistrada and then there will be another 1000cc bike, most likely a R-type bike and all are using parts from the Aprilia shelves...

These pix are of the show-bike but verry little will change on the production bike, it will get a headlight and mirrors, the rear with monoposto seat, taillight and exhaust will be exactly the same....

Man, is it just me, or is that rear end butt-ass ugly?

That taillight reminds me of low-budget 1960s Sci-Fi flicks.

At the launch, did they have a portly robot waving his arms around? "Danger Will Robinson! Danger!"

I like the rest of the bike, but everything from the seat back should go!

Reminds me of Lily Tomlin: "one ringy-dingy...two ringy-dingies..." snort snort...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

This package appears to fill the niche vacated by the Blue Marlin. I painted a bike that exact color once.

Replace the taillight with a marquise diamond shaped integrated turn signal-taillight-turn signal and you'll have a polished parts bin offering.

I'm not sure what value is gained by carrying the rights to the Laverda name forward. Moto Guzzi has a significant worldwide niche carved out. Laverda, at least here in the U.S., is all but non-existant.

I have a stiff one in my pants. I hope my mille is not jealous.

Tube style frame reminds me of Falco, along with angular body style. Hell, naked lower half again reminds me of Falco. Beat me, it's a slimmed down Falco!

They should have built the Blue Marlin under the Laverda name.
