View Full Version : How Do I Get The SXV5.5 NOW?

02-16-2006, 11:56 AM
I've been patient long enough and it almost doesn't to me how I get one of these but I want one as soon as possible. I'm really flying over to Europe in the next four weeks and I wouldn't mind in the least bit to pass by the Aprilia Factory in Italy and get one for myself and have it shipped over to where I live.

Is this even possible? I don't care about price, shipping and whatever else is involved. All I know is that I want one of these before I sucker myself into getting a KTM525, Yamaha WR450 or a Honda CRF450.

How do the racers get them? They've been around for two years already... someone must be selling them?

Cheers and all. :)

PS. Patience is a virtue I unfortunately do not have. :)

It could possibly be very easy to get one while your at the factory in Italy, just go to the rowdy biker bar and check out this thread " you americans get all the fun" it should give you some great Ideas

Maybe you can email Gotta_have_my_sxv_now@aprilia.com ....pretty sure they set up a paypal account for just this purpose.

So, I guess, it isn't possible! :)

If I knew, I'd be RICH!!

They haven't even completed production on the '06 450's yet. The '07 550's won't even go into production until this happens. The only bikes you have seen at the track are the factory bikes (no privateers have them yet).

Visit my local Aprilia dealer. You'll have it within a month.

You americans get all the good movies first, we get the beautiful bikes first. Sounds fair to me. :D

Add a week to your trip over there, go to a local dealer and buy one. Then go back to your hotel room, borrow some tools, break it down and ship it back to the US in multiple boxes as "parts". That's how a friend of mine got his KTM Super Duke here in the states, before that dealer in Washington brought over 10 of them from Canada.

Enjoy!

At the dealer expo last weekend as we were packing up, I walked past the entire 06 Aprilia lineup... by themselves, with nobody watching them, for a few hours straight.

I contemplated evil ideas on how to take an SXV.

Nice pics speedy I just noticed the fuel cap has no lock? if not kids round here will steal the fuel, wonder if u can get locking fuel caps?

Does the side stand flip up by its self ? or u have to knock it back with your foot?

The stand is self retracting, but its easy to fix if you dont like it that way.

What race bikes do have a locking cap??????
That is what these things are.

Dyno'ed one (SXV550) the other day at a touch over 70rwhp. This bike was almost new with no mods at all, showroom stock(derestricted).

Yeah i know what your saying forza but they seem to have everything else to make them road going steering lock etc.

Atleast if they do nick it they wont get away with much lol only about 7 litres just keep some handy in case they do.

Then im sure u can buy a locking screw on cap somewhere:)

Sounds great on the dyno :burnout:

Im loooking to get one restricted first to see hoe it is. and keep 2yr warranty
