Of 2006? I thought street legal versions were not going to be seen till 2008, atleast that is what I have read in other parts of this forum. I had also read that 550's were not comming state side till 2007.

So what you are saying is that we will see 450's and 550's in race and street versions in 2006? If so I need to come up with 20 grand quick... anyone know how much a good kidney is worth?

From what I've been told....the 550's will be 2007 models in third quarter 2006.

'Street-legal' will come down to your state-restrictions, and if they stamped 'off-road' use only on the MSO.

Light-kits will be available.

Yes, that is correct. The third quarter bikes are all going to be 2007 model year bikes.

We are definately going to see the 550 as well as the 450 this upcoming year in June/July of 2006.

The 1st quarter bikes are the only ones coming in as 2006 model year bikes. The 2006 bikes are very limited, so would even consider buying one as an investment to hold on to for the future if the bike is a huge success.

We will have to get Umi over at Tigcraft to start building a prototype exhaust for the 450's & 550's. With a state of the art machine such as these we can only expect someone to put the best/Aprilia only exhaust out there on it. :)

HAHAHAHAHAHa:cheers:

I knew Aprilia wouldn't let me down.

So late summer '06 I should be able to get my hands on the street-legal SXV550 correct?

What is the price on it? Surely it will be more than $8,700.

And what about motor longevity? I heard the offroad versions are limited to about 100 hours before a major service (pistons, valves etc..). I assume Aprilia is going to tweak the street version for a little less HP so that they require normal service??

Well you have this...

The major shipment which will be the street versions as well as racing will not show up to any dealers until the 3rd quarter (Jun/July/August).
http://www.rollinfast.com

And this...

street-legal ones not until 2008.

So, you have two dealers putting out totally different information, this wont do anything to help the current view people have of Piaggio, Aprilia and the dealers.

Well, there is a difference between streetable and street-legal versions. Maybe someone got confused? Not that it isn't misinformation though...

Just tell us lies and then make excuses "because it's Italy and that's how they do it over there" - I think we can all accept that.

Aprilia's are like Heinz ketchup..."good things come to those who wait":soap:

It doesnt matter who is right and who is wrong, just that with the current Aprilia enviroment people like you guys cant get the same answer from 2 or 3 different dealers.

look around the forum lately at the attitude towards the dealer group, we (the dealers) are all lying, theiving bastards who suck and are just telling the customers what you want to hear.

Knowing what I know about what is going on I could probably write an interesting paper on the public's perception of the rise and fall of Aprilia, but instead i have to go out in a blizzard and shovel snow :pissed:

OOOOhh-kay.

However (not to argue) he never said street-legal----only S*T*R*E*E*T.

All the other information (from dealers) out there counters his remark. I read 'street' versions to mean 17" wheels and lowered suspension....or one that favors tarmac over dirt....That context puts his information inline with all the other dealers remarks.

Believe me, up until recently I had two on order--if anyone wants to believe that they will have lights and tags it will be me.

Also, if they are to be street legal (in the USA for 3Q 2006) wouldn't AOA have it listed on their web-site..

In fact there is no information on AOA's website about the model-years/delivery timeframe of the SXV to begin with (show me where...I'd love to read it).

Perhaps RollinFast knows more then every other dealer who has posts (as again we have nothing concrete from AOA) if that is correct then great, saves me the trouble of converting my newly acquired SXV (whenever it comes). However since the word 'legal' was left-out I think his remarks rank up there with every other dealer who has posted the info (unless RF had their own 1-on-1 AOA dealer meet where this information was passed to them alone...)

:)

Ed is correct! No street "legal" until 08. That is what we have been told. That means this years (and 07's) will be set up as race bikes without reducing engine HP for longevity.

 Jeff :)

That is the 'official' word we have gotten, it doesnt mean you wont be able to get them registered but it may be like the RS250 where some places you can some places you cant. In Arizona I have seen Yamaha Banshee's with plates on them, and a lot of the off-road riders on thir WR450, CRF450X type bikes manage to get a plate somehow.

But hey like Joe said, I am just a mechanic at a used car dealership :D

You guys can all go back and forth and back and forth again. The information we are going by is info that was given directly to me from Aprilias PR guy. I will leave names out. The word was that the only units that were coming in as race only units were the early 1 quarter units and the later units were going to be compiled of race and street versions.

Before everyone starts making accusations and pointing fingers, make sure your info is rock solid. We heard it from the horses mouth and if that is misinformation, blame someone at Aprilia we are only middle men.

The market being fragile is an understatement. The only one to blame for this fragile market is Aprilia USA for not doing damage control when the bullshit about them going bankrupt was floating around on the holy bible everyone calls the internet. If you read it here it must be true?:bs:

Secondly to blame is all of the multiple line dealer/scum bags that completely sold out on Aprilia and started selling product for less than dealer cost. Now all of you guys that shopped around to get your factory for $12,000 - $14,000 have a resale value of not even that for a bike that MSRP's for $17,900. Great investment!!!

I cant wait for the replies on this one. :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:

We are trying like hell to get you an answer, but we need to get a solid one first. All of the anguish and pain you are feeling is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to being an Aprilia dealer right now.

We are also trying like hell to support Aprilia and promote their products but the concrete that our heads have been hitting for the last year is starting to hurt like hell.

Fully street legal versions in June/July '06 is consistent with what I have heard from my Montreal Aprilia dealer. He said both the SXV and RXV were currently in the homologation process with Transport canada right now, but that it can be a 6- 8 month long process, hence the wait until June/July.

Cheers!

Whats coming first.... The Tig Craft full system for the 04-05 bikes or the new SXV and RXV ??? :bangwall: :WTF:

As we have posted previously, Umi in Japan did build a prototype for the '04-'05 RSVR's but the system did not make a substantial power gain so he felt it was not worth releasing until he did some more R & D and figured out how to make additional power. The OEM headers on the '04-'05 actually work really well with a good set of slip-ons.

Umi will not release an exhaust if he feels it is not up to par with power output. All of his R & D goes into Aprilia products only, so less than perfection is not an option in his mind.

Back to the initial question, we hope to see the exhaust systems for the RSVR and the RXV/SXV soon.
