how far do you bolt down the bearing on the clutch

Hmmm, you might be doing something I haven't done before. Got a picture of it? Even a phone pic would be good.

no pics but its the plate you bolt down on top of clutch springs

I get you now. I was wondering what bearings you were on about!

As far as I remember, when I did it the thread has a bottom, so I just finger tightened it, then gave it some.
Worked my way round all 6 in the usual pattern. evenly tightening them all, careful not to strip them.

That was 10,000km ago, so I think they're all right.

Do a search for "talke". (poster couln't spell.:D)

ive tightened them all the way down but arn't the cclutch plates suppose to move

Who knows, I did the same and it works.

My top tip is not to fully tighten the bolts till the clutch bit is fitted on the spindle thing, can't get it in otherwise.

yes but when you pull in the clutch lever it allows the plates to move by taking the pressure off them. in its natural position they wont/shouldnt move.
