Has anyone put a real HID kit in thier bike? I have an 04 tuono, I think the front bulb is an H4 but is it also the high beam too? I found a web site that has top quality kits for $190, if you need the bi-xenon then it is $100 more. I am looking for feedback weather or not the HID help? If the bike produces enough current to the the HID ballast's? Was it just plug and play or did you have to do some moification?

Let me know.

I am looking at doing the same. My plan it to go Bi-Xeon and mod the wiring to activate the high beam. Undecided what I will do with the stock high beams. The bike has plenty of juice to run HID's. The balast just needs 12 volts. The magic is handle inside the balast for ignition. After ignition the HID draws 35 watts. 20 watts less than the stock low beam.

Dont run the ballast off the stock wiring. You need to run it through a relay.

Ballasts do some strange stuff on startup. One 35w HID bulb connected: you run about 10 amps inrush first starting it. That doesnt sound like too much, but if you were to put it on an oscilloscope, it does some funky things. It will fry your wiring.

For an HID to be truly effective, you need the housing for it, you can just plop in an HID bulb and expect it to put out decent light.

BTW: Wrong forum for this.
