Well if you had posted a few hour earlier could have helped you. I live near LAX and just left by myself at 12:00 for Malibu cyn/ Muholand Dr./ Kanan Rd. back to old Sepulvada and home.

Now it is time to mow the yards, and pack for Seattle tomorrow, maybe next weekend as I have a few days before I leave for Norway on 9/15.

OK, email me next time!

09-05-2005, 08:44 PM
:bangwall: Anybody else out there...any input?

09-05-2005, 09:21 PM
I live in South OC. If you want to ride further south (Ortega, Idyllwild, Banner, Borrego, Warner, Julian) send me a pm.

I go to the Crest (back side) every now and then.

I live in Venice and also have a buddy who lives in Santa Monica who has an 03. I have an 04 Tuono.

Ya, I'd like to get a ride going sometime...I'm at a conference in Indianapolis, IN right now...no helmet law here! What about next weekend all?

09-09-2005, 11:16 AM
Hit me up guys, so far I've only seen one other aprilia in my area while riding. It would be nice to meet some like minded folks and go for a ride with them as well.

I'm in the Fontana/Riverside area, so I'm game.

Let's just post a date and we'll hook up. Unfortunately my work schedule had changed to six days a week so I'll only be able to ride on Sundays from now on.

09-09-2005, 03:34 PM
The best place to find out about rides in that area is at www.pashnit.com. They have every ride you can imagine and then some. If I didn't just move out of SoCal (went back east) i'd be out there with my mille. Have fun!

I live in the San Fernando Valley. I ride almost every weekend. I usually ride with www.turn2sportbikes.com, go to their ride schedule. I would like to do an Aprilia ride. If anyone is interested in doing a ride next month, let me know and I will organize it.

I am in the San Gabriel Valley (10/60/710) freeway area. Just let me know the time and date and I'll be there. Dbransky, how was the Day of Labor ride? I had to miss that one due to a late Sunday night incident....

09-11-2005, 10:49 AM
I'll do an aprilia ride next month.. I go at least 2 to 3 times a week around malibu canyon and such.. sometimes the crest.. I live in san fernando valley.. I'm goin on this mornin real soon too as soon as these poached eggs get eaten. :)

09-12-2005, 08:08 PM
:) Cool...sounds like there are enough of us here to get something going. I think it'd be really cool to roll in force with the Aprilia's!! People in Orange county can head north and we'll pick/ meet people as we go...Sunday sounds like the preferable day for everybody...I'm thinking about 8-10AM somewhere in or around Long Beach...roll up North through P.V. and on up onto Malibu etc...what do you all think?

09-12-2005, 08:25 PM
I'm in....

09-12-2005, 08:34 PM
Let's make it earlier so we can avoid the minivans and the squids. (Just a thought)

09-12-2005, 09:43 PM
What time "earlier" didja have in mind?...let's try to get a timeline together for meeting points as we head north.

X - o'clock somewhere in Orange County

8AM Starbucks (the one in the middle of 2nd Street in Belmont Shore)

http://www.starbucks.com/retail/locator/MapResults.aspx?a=1&StoreKey=301&IC_O=33.7615157843463%3a-118.127657242507%3a32%3a90803+(postal+code)%2c+Cal ifornia%2c+United+States&GAD1_O=&GAD2_O=&GAD3_O=90803+(postal+code)%2c+California%2c+United +States&GAD4_O=&radius=5&countryID=244&dataSource=MapPoint.NA

9-9:30 (Somewhere in Santa Monica or Malibu)

from there off to the canyons? up the coast? suggestions? :)

09-12-2005, 10:30 PM
sounds good to me - I like early rather than later (beat the heat)

09-12-2005, 11:43 PM
The Chevron on PCH/Sunset by 800am or maybe even earlier? My buds and I usually arrive at the Rock Store by 830-9am. We leave SGV by 730am most of the time. You guys in the OC pick a time. It takes me about 25 minutes to get out to PCH/Sunset from the SGV. Dbransky or Jthomas, you guys want to set a time?

09-13-2005, 12:51 AM
8AM in Malibu is pretty early for me! I'll do it, but that would revise the departure time from Long Beach Starbucks to 7AM...does that work for the Orange County folk?

09-13-2005, 08:59 AM
I'm not in the oc.. - I can meet yas as ya drive up pch through malibu - I usually hang out at the coffee bean a couple miles south of pepperdine.

09-13-2005, 09:51 AM
I love that coffee bean! I hung there for 3 years when I attended Pepperdine. They used to have a great cigar store there too. I think it closed down though. What do you think the good folks of Malibu would do if there were 10+ Aprilias on Sunday morning in that plaza booming the beautiful thunderous v60 sound?

P.S. I am not sure the gas station at PCH/Sunset is a Chevron. Maybe it's a 76? Dbransky, help me out here with a location!

09-13-2005, 04:06 PM
well, right about that time 10 aprilias wouldn't be the only biker crowd - we'd have to share the lot with a dozen other peeps on their way through too!

09-13-2005, 10:40 PM
Yeah, but theirs won't sound as sweet as V60x10! Or is that V600....

09-13-2005, 11:05 PM
I think that's a v60 6000! My wife wants to know if she can ride along - she's got a honda.... /cringe

but she really does appreciate a good italian bike and she rides well :)

09-13-2005, 11:48 PM
I think everybody is welcome no? Whatevers clever! Not like we own the road, technically we do, but that's semantics.

09-14-2005, 12:31 AM
Good... I got 2 buds with Triumphs. I'll see if they want to tag along to see what a bike that does not leak oil looks like.

09-15-2005, 01:11 PM
So maybe 9am at the Malibu Coffee Bean?

09-15-2005, 08:18 PM
9 AM Coffee Bean sounds good.

That's the one you are talking about right?

09-16-2005, 06:29 PM
Exactly, Malibu Country mart next to Nobu's and all the little boutiques. Anyone wearing Chatterboxes?

09-17-2005, 09:48 AM
I"ll be there as I've gotta refuel my caffeine and paper fix before 9am - see you all when you get there! How many do we expect to be there (count my wife and I).

09-17-2005, 02:30 PM
Just me. The 2 Trumpets are not back in town yet until next week.

09-18-2005, 05:34 PM
Nice meetin yas all today - had a good ride! If anyone wants to repeat that - I'm usually at the coffee bean sat or sunday mornings around 9 or 10

09-18-2005, 05:57 PM
Same here. Next week. Same place/time?

09-18-2005, 06:51 PM
Ya, that was super fun! That's a total of 8.5 hours of riding for me for the day -lunch/breaks etc...Damn I'm beat!

I'm down for next week again...we gotta get a so. OC ride going too!

Thanks all! :peace:

09-18-2005, 07:45 PM
How's about Saturday to the Crest? There's very light traffic and usually on the way down, there is nobody on the road. The crowd is older and more mature. There's a consistent group of Tuonos and RSVRs (1 guy has a 2005 Factory all in Carbon Fibre) up there on Saturday too. Would be pretty cool to join up and double our numbers!

09-18-2005, 09:08 PM
Saturday at the crest sounds good. Maybe I'll bring my vid camera this time and shoot the ride. :)

09-19-2005, 10:50 PM
For sure! I'm down almost anytime.

Get the details nailed down - location/time - post it as new thread

09-20-2005, 10:19 AM
:peace: Count me in as well.
Just post the details, or PM me.
Looking forward to it.

Hey, Lawman! I really dug your Big Yellow Duc-eating Banana. :lover:

How did you do at the track day on Friday?

09-20-2005, 12:22 PM
Wanna buy it? It's a banana slug, by the way. I love the racing Tuono myself. Man, what an impressive looking bike!

The track day is this Friday, 23rd. Hopefully the weather will clear up by then. I hate riding in the rain, plus I took a day off for it too....

09-21-2005, 12:36 AM

Your bike was very clean. And with regards to it being a banana slug, I would respond all it would take to fix that would be a simple gearing change and handlebar swap. (a little Tuono prejudice here). Personally, I would have matching yellow helmet, leathers, gloves, and boots!!! I'm sure you would have no problem finding a new owner. That is classic Italian.

The 'RSV Mille R Tuono' is an awesome machine. I can only imagine what a Clarkie Tuono is like. :cigar: On this particular outing there were (2) Tuono Racings traveling as an assault team through the Malibu mountains. It was totally bitchin making a hard charge down Latigo Canyon with both Tuonos in nose-to-tail unison. The other Tuono belongs to JetFever, with Mike Frane at the controls, while JetFever was checking out Mike's Beemer R1200GS.

09-21-2005, 12:56 AM
And then there was me heading up the back of the pack. :peace:

09-21-2005, 01:47 AM
I would definitely do the gearing change. I read in the Brit mags that dropping 1 in front and 2 in the back does wonders for the MilleR. The handlebars are not so bad, I came off a MV Agusta and a 996 so the MilleR is actually fairly comfortable by comparison.

I do have a yellow suit but my boots and gloves are all black so they can match my track outfit too. It's hard to find a good yellow helmet though nowadays. I make do with my Bostrom with the silver/black and yellow flames. I do have a Randy De Puniet RSF2 on order though.
