My friend has a friend of a friend who has a rotex racing engine, but i was wondering what i would need to $$$$ pay to make my bike a racing engine as well.
Seen clarkie's stuff but im in seattle and that is way too far to ship the motor to have the work done, plus my friend wants to put his name to my bike with the upgrades.

we sell the piston kit for $795 and then you/he can do the work, get the cylinders bored and plated etc. the other option is Ken @ Evoluzione.net sells a stock bore high compression piston that is a drop in mod :)

Stage 1 kit will get you 6-8% more power when tuned properly (depending on exhaust/airbox config etc), i cant/wont give a hp number unless i can see a 'current' dyno graph and only then if the bike is taken back to the same dyno on a similar day ;)

uh....................ok. 6-8% is a good enough figure

if i tell you that the stage 1 kit will make 140hp at teh rear wheel and you (or anyone else) take it to another dyno that reads low all of a sudden i am a prick that sold you something that doesnt work.

If your bike is making around 130hp now it should make around 136-140hp after the stage 1 kit. I know my race bike only makes 138-140hp on the local dyno guy's dyno that is at the track, he has a dynojet 250i. fully tuned RSV-R's with pipes/airbox kit etc only make 120hp on his dyno, but stock ones only make 110hp.

it's all about where you start at, this is why i would rather give a percentage than a 'number' as a 8% gain is still 8% regardless of if you start at 120hp or 130hp.

Of course of Ferraci's dyno they bike will make well over 200hp :D

The first thing folks should learn is, horsepower is EXPENSIVE. much easier to loose weight, or a combination thereof.

Dropping the fat is the way to go. It will also save you money, less $$ on food

That would be the least expensive way of getting more hp so I'd do that. :p:

Screw that!! Besides, adding horsepower is a lot more fun than dieting. :D

Yeah, that is a pretty rediculous idea... :bangwall:

I use to have a nasty habbit of justifying big bucks on saving grams of weight on my bicycles. Because I did a lot of racing weight was a huge issue. When I look at my Ape, I think ... titanium here, carbon there ... man you could get this light :) Plus spending $$ on cool well crafted parts is more than worth it (IMHO).

I'm fat but in a racey way! I feel as thought the wind just slips over my gourgously rounded bod with less turbulace than if I had a bumpy, muscular shape, besides, muscle weights more than fat so I can be fatter than a muscular guy!
