So last week I saw the pics of the flapper mod someone posted. It looked easy enough so I did it, took only a minute or two. Then I read some more posts, clicked links to a couple others.... Next thing you know the front fairing is off and I've got the intake in my lap going through surgery with the dremel.

In the end it looked like this

I gutted and smoothed it out. Had I went and got the proper bit for the dremel it would have been a lot nicer finished product.
Anyway, HOLY CRAP! A VERY noticable difference. Pulling out of my complex the front end lifted up easy as can be. The bike is completely stock other wise, this is my first mod. I don't know if just disableing the flapper would have worked as nice but I know my bike feels a lot stronger just from cleaning out the intake.

So when you pulled it apart what exactly did you do? On mine all I did was take a pair of long nosed neddle nosed plyers and yank the guts out.

I cut them out and sanded everything smooth. Then I cut the part that the valve was mounted on off, filled in the hole and painted it all with a flat black paint.

You have to look closer to see the "body work" on the intake and once installed it isn't noticable at all, looks stock.

I'm on deployment right now and my connection is slow as sh#t. Uploading pics would take a while.
