OK, per Chrman's suggestion I'm starting a thread for the 25th & 26th. Weather permitting, I'm in for both days. It seems like Sundays work better for most, so...

Depending on the crowd, Newburgh works. or maybe even Harriman - easy access to Sullivan county (read Hawks Nest).

FalcoLion, I'm not trying to steal your thunder about rounding up a group, just want to make clear about which weekend is which.

Hey, I do not suffer from a star strike desease. I wish I could go as well but I have to keep my promise to my little one. She is going to be 8 and can't wait to go to Sesame Place. Anyway we should have a great ride this upcoming Sunday, so I am looking to see you all guys by Newburg :plus:

Considering what I've read about yesterday's ride, a little planning is in order. Also, if the group is going to get too big, then let's understand upfront that we'll break up into smaller groups - 6-8 - to keep things running smoothly.

I've got to run now, but will post later with some things to consider - thanks FalcoLion for laying out what you saw going on.

The one main problem yesterday was the the group was too big. We have never really had this problem before but its always fewer people. The groups should be around 6 people or 8 at most. Since we are not Harleys and don't ride 40 mph you can't be blasting around back roads with 16 bikes following and passing cars and such.

What happened to you yesterday, Duggan? I thought you were going to be on the ride.

So, for the 26th, we currently have 2 definites and 2 maybes, yes?

I was always out for the 19th. But I'm chompin' at the bit for this weekend. Weather permitting, I'm there on Sunday. May even get a ride in on Saturday too.

I hope you're not expecting me to fall ass-over-tea-kettle for your little blue Mille when I see it, Duggan. I like the blue, what with its exclusivity and all, but, you know, red is really where it's at...

:D

Here we go again........ :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:

Better get used to the Blue, 'cause you're gonna be behind me staring at it all day Sunday.

Maybe so, but red is the way to go.

DOH!!! Now you've got me rapping trash talk!!!

OK, so here goes...

For this Sunday let's meet at the same McD's in Newburgh 9-9:30. Plan on departing the lot at 9:30. Get there earlier to chat. Tank up before pulling in.

I don't know the roads up there so someone familiar can be the lead. If someone has a map bring it and we'll discuss the route before we take off. If we're a big group break up into smaller, 6-8 bikes. Let's agree on a lunch break time/location before we start. And during if you need to peel away let everyone know ahead.

Questions, comments, concerns? I'm sure I haven't thought of everything, but this is a start.

Let's ride!

Ok, guys I guess everyone had enough to say about the situation and we all know what we need to do the next time we get a group as large as this one. So here is the question - Would anyone want to plan ahead the ride for July 3 and July 10? If you do and obviously if the weather cooperates, start posting here NY/NJ/CT/PA riders - lets ride on July 3 and/or July 10. (http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=621751#post621751)
