Does anyone know of any "cheap" clean lodging around Deals Gap? I'm limited to the times I can visit there due to the lodging costs. There are many times that I'm the only one available to run the Gap, but I don't want to spend the bucks for normal lodging, so I don't go. :crybaby: A couple of years ago, I was running Rt. 1 along the coast of California, and I ran into a gentleman from England. :peace: He said he was lodging at places that just provided large rooms full of cots, with nice shower facilities. He said there are common travelers, usually cyclist, that utilize these sleeping arrangements. I think he said they run from $5 - $20 per night (US)? That's all I need, just a place to sleep, and clean up in the morning. Any ideas? Or for you entrepreneurs, build it and they will come!!

Joey,

If you are willing to do the camping thing, 9 miles past the gap there is a town called Fontana, which has facilities at a campground. Full hook-up for the RV was $20.00 a night, so I can only imagine a regular spot would be next to nothing.

If you are unwilling to do the camping thing, I have stayed at the Hotel 411 several times. $40.00 a night with the basic two up queen beds. It is right at the intersection of 129 and 411, so it is right there.

On another note, if ever people back out, drop a PM. I'm always looking for an excuse to head out that way. Rode a RSVR out there from Columbus by myself when everyone else backed out. Not going to let other people ruin my fun! Little aside- go on the week days. Didn't pass one police officer this Thursday, but on Friday they had a police substation set up, with a judge present was the rumour.

Pictures from last weekend are up online in the Rider's photo section. Good Luck!

lmao damn RFM talk about timing .

Most of the places i posted are around $30 and up depending on what your looking for. The bunks started at like 18 and up and there was some that had personal cabins for around 30 a night as well. Check them out and good luck and if your going to be in the neighborhood let me know hell it aint but an hour up the road and i know just about all the kickass roads there is
