I love your picture book...you have done an amazing amount of mods to your scoot. How many pipes did you try before deciding on that one?

Yes, tell us more about that twin exhaust!

12-08-2002, 05:09 AM
Thank you for all the nice comments!

The pipe isnt a permanent decision, as you can see i have selection to choose from.

In other words im just trying the different pipes out, and when the twin pipe was fitted it was on DR 47 mm cylinder (also on the dyno) but the best combo yet was the Jolly moto, seconf is the Yasuni c20 with the ported polini evolution cylinder.

Concerning the twin its a great pipe for semiracing kits (e.g. polini corsa, malossi mhr replica etc..) i work with a scooter shop and i can sell you the very popular twin pipe! which also comes in Chrome finishwww.msp-tuning.dk/media/Ixil-Twin-Krom-lille.jpg (http://www.msp-tuning.dk/media/Ixil-Twin-Krom-lille.jpg)

Btw the sound is great! like a 650 cc mc!

We also have the Jolly moto pipe , the greatest exhaust of all time for "pumped" scooters Look--www.msp-tuning.dk/media/Jolly-moto_lille.gif (http://www.msp-tuning.dk/media/Jolly-moto_lille.gif)

In fact we have alot of parts to say the least, we can get "everything" just ask.

Now that we are talking twin pipes.
we also have this fine thing available:->>www.scooter-shoppen.dk/billeder/Im003104.jpg (http://www.scooter-shoppen.dk/billeder/Im003104.jpg)

Where can I learn more about these twin silencer exhausts. What are the main benefits other than the obvious performance boosts. Are they any quieter than a single? I won't go on and on here, but would like to discuss things directly.

12-09-2002, 02:16 PM
Yes it IS quieter than a regular performance pipe with one silencer,it doesnt have the hig pitched noise but a lower ruumbbbbling.

If you need more info we can talk over icq, msn, yahoo or plain email!?

What a WASTE of that good a set up. Man that pipe is PURE BS.

Man seriously, I'm not joking or anything. That just sucks. Have you ever seen it? The expansion chamber has a DEAD END where normally the tailpipe is fitted. But now it's just a DEAD END.

The pipes that go to the silencers come out of the MIDDLE of the expansion chamber.

So a PURE waste of the expansion working.

Fit an Evo pipe, a Yasuni C20, a Hebo Racing 2 pipe and see for yourself.

So many $$$ worth of good racing stuff, yet you KILL it with an Ixil Twin pipe.

And of course the weakest parts is the main factor of the overall performance.

Get Rid Of It, TODAY!

Ok I see.

And still went for the Ixil?

Damn you guys need some tuning lessons from Holland.

take it easy Dutch or you'll get a heart attack.:D

such a waste of good hardware especially the Yasuni C20 pipe, it appears they haven't sorted out the cilinder ports yet or else they wouldn't have fitted the Ixil pipe.

and Dutch i placed 2nd AGAIN in the scooter drags last Sunday and i'm still using my damaged MHR cilinder (nicasil coating peeled off at the top of the barrel), we're out of the game for these next few months so i'm working my ass off saving for the MHR Speed cilinder and MHR Team crankshaft. if only the cilinder weren't damaged i could have won the 70cc class (just beat me by half a scooter length this time).

Too bad tiba, 2nd place is 1st looser :)

And even in untuned state the Ixil pipe is CRAP.

It just is. It's no good, it's no racing pipe, it's for LOOKS only. (and I hate that look)

Everybody would have one here if it was ANY good.

Speaking of porting the cylinders, is there a good reference out there for a DYI attempt or is this something best left to the pros? I've got the tools, but not the knowhow. Wood is my specialty!

go to www.macdizzy.com there's a wealth of info regarding 2 stroke tuning and that includes porting cilinders, when i came across this site it really changed the way i modify (port) 2 stroke cilinders & engines.

as for porting i've had lots of experience porting 4 stroke cylinder heads so i'm kinda good at it really, the key to porting cilinders is experience and lots of it plus a steady hand will be a great advantage.

learn the basics first about how the 2 stroke engine works before you delve deep into the serious stuff, took me 3 years to learn how to port the cilinder right for a given application but i feel there is more HP to be had in every cilinder so on with the struggle to find the perfect port.:)

12-10-2002, 10:23 AM
Dutch fella, you need to relax!

Dont speak of something you dont have experience woth, which you obviously dont have in this matter.
I do!

The Ixil twin pipe is far from crap, although a lot of people claim it! Maybe because of the prejudgement of twin pipes caused by the Ninja twinner which is another Twin pipe that really is CRAP!

But a pipe that can deliver 10 hp + on a Cylinder as the DR kit IS NOT CRAP!

By the way the setup on the Beo changes all the time, as we test new parts for the shop! and the one mentioned is Not the one on the Dyno printout!

We test all the new parts we get in mainly on the Beo for quality and if the pipe was crap we would not sell it!

And regarding learning from dutch people: The only dutch folks I would take advice from is the Twins tuning, and PM tuning team!

Talking about porting of the cylinder, it is precision work!
And the right porting can be a miracle!

Can bee seen on this Gilera Storm with a Twins ported MHR team speed kit: 25,4 Horsepower !!!

There is more than Koopmans & PM Tuning.

And I need to relex. Well you said it yourself, 10BHP WOW. No seriously, I'm not here to bash on you.

But I know you can get much better performance with ANY of the other pipes than the Ixil Twin. And it's maybe even worse than the Ninja one. At least the Ninja doesn't have a dead end on it (how stupid could they get)

I really have to say this (VERY important) if you'd understand Dutch and you would knew the main Dutch Scooterforum, you would have known that the Dyno that Koopmans uses is VERY positive. Many people tested their scooter on different ones and on Koopmans' Dyno you get 3~5 BHP more.

That scooter you showed actually had around 20BHP. Seriously, that 25 number is not correct. I'm not a kid who just got his scooter. I'm not saying you are, because I don't. But I've seen everything. Here in Holland scooters are VERY big. We next to france have the most experience.

And you are very wrong to say I do not know where I'm talking about, because I do.

12-10-2002, 06:17 PM
Do you think im bragging about 10 bhp? give me a break!
im just saying that 10 hp on a poor setup with dr 47 mm kit, the usuals + ixil twin is NOT BAD AT ALL!

Again, dont talk about thinks you havent tried!
the ninja has been busted in not even having any combustion chamber!, the welding marks were painted on!!! So that would be my choice of @#%$ pipe of the world.

I can tell you i have tested every pipe that is worth testing!

My personal favorite would be Jolly moto or Yasuni c20 , whats yours? and please only tell me about the ones you have tried yourself!

No i dont understand dutch, thanks for telling me bout koopmans...but still is great power with (-5hp =20) 20 hp IRL.

We all know how a Dyno acts!

And youve seen everything?- might be, but you havent tried it all

Again: dont talk on things you do not have personal experience with!

I know how you are Crazy about scooters in Holland, i myself live in Denmark.

If you come to the Midland Circuit Lelystad scooter event in June 03 you will se me not bragging about 10hp but bragging about 25 real HP on my full kitted Fabrizi Evoluzione Sr50.

btw- nice hp with the Air jordans!

It's all good.

What I'm trying to say is MANY people here have fully kitted engines, cilinders, inner rotor ignitions and none of these guys have an Ixil Twinner.

Ok I myself haven't tested ALL pipes. Simply because my cuurent cilinder doensn't operate above 13.000 rpm, so I can skip pipes like the C20 because I know it won't work. See what I mean. 'm also not going to test Technigas, Leo Vince, Arrow etc, because I know these pipes are @#%$. Every combination has been tried here, so people can use this info. And I can sau for sure that with the right setup, you can do musch better with an EVO LC 47,6 then you can with a Ixil. I myself have the Air Cooled EVO 47,6.

If you get 25 real BHP, 'll congratulate you in person, I also (like MANY others) will come to Lelystad next summer. It's gonna be the meeting of all meetings. I'm not even trying to get a big BHP, because my AC would always het defeated by the superfast LC Piaggio Zips. But I have good looks. So mine is tuned optical and also has a nice racy setup.

And indeed, Koopmans Dyno isn't calibrated. People most of the times use Tovami Dyno's.

My guess for next year is that people who have the hand-made Valention Meijer pipe will have the most BHP. As far as it looks now, this pipe is going to blow the C20. It seems the Kundo f1 is also doing very well.

I noticed you now say DR 47mm kit. While the topic says Evo. This would indeed make a whole nother topic, because the Ixil might do good on the DR and yes in that case the Evo pipe and c20 are overkill.

PS. Thx for the compliments on my AJ site.
