im wondering

on ditech we have a fuel gauge, but its not accurate.
the floater in the gas tank - not a very good solution.

but how does the light (the orange one) works? when does it lights and why?

i say, that this light is the most accurate thing on my bike!

The orange fuel light works when you fuel gauge is at zero, but with the light you are in the reserve, I believe this is 2 liters fuel (70-100 km remains)

the reserve fuel light on my di-tech only comes on when the tank is very very low, so if you fill up regulary i would'nt worry about it.

in the manual it's 2 litres for me, 2001 model but I don't have run more than 15 km on the reserve, I don't have took the risk, but I will try one time to see, I take a bottle with gas and when it stop I full it

I think you hit 'Reserve' when the gauge goes into the red. My light doesn't come on until it's close to the bottom of reserve, but I've never pushed it to see how far it will go. On the other hand, I have never been able to pump more than 1.35 gallons in filling it all the way to the top (5.11 liters).

I don't think it's a good thing to run out of gas with electronic fuel injection.

so....there is no special feature for this light? it depends on the fuel gauge(floater)?

that sux...

but its true, i have driven 20km with the orange light on
