think it's best to let a professional paint it...

If you decide to try it, just search the internet for info. It's not hard to do, the sanding and prepping is probably the worst part. Just remove all stickers & prep it, and have patience when spraying so you don't end up with paint running off everywhere. Doing it yourself will cost you around $75 in materials (single color/single stage DuPont paint, hardner, thinner, sand paper, tape), and it'll take you about a day to do all of the bodywork with plenty of coats and drying time in between. The easiest thing would be to paint it one color, then install stickers.

Be sure to wear a mask/respirator, and find some old sheets to cover everything in your garage or you'll have overspray everywhere...

Good luck... and post pictures ...

If you pay an automotive paint shop to do it then it could cost anywhere from $300-850 depending on the shop and which color you chose (some colors like flourescents & candy colors can cost you close to $300 just in paint).

If you know someone that does painting for race bikes then you can get it painted for $175-350 for the normal/cheap colors, but it won't look as good as the automotive paint jobs. The automotive shops will spend the extra time wet sanding it and it'll look perfect... the race paint job will look perfect from a distance, but may have orange peels up close (less time spent trying to make it perfect since it's gonna end up on the ground anyway).
