If you guys REALLY want to see the RS 50's flying you should come to one of our races.

We race Honda GP RS125 running gear with a 50cc engine (ours is an Aprilia RS) for a 6 hr endurance race!!

Go over to www.mopedmayhem.com to have a look.

Some of these boys are Seriously QUICK!

The next race is at Elvington Nr York

if you want any more details give me a shout on leeharding@totalise.co.uk

How come non of them race bikes have a faring?

I've tryed to use my RS50 without an fairing and it seems slower and a hell of alot windier 0.o

05-30-2003, 04:46 AM
We are not allowed to use fairing's in this series as it keeps the cost of the racing down. Can you imagine replacing the fairings every round (there tends to be alot of crashes)

Our bike was starting to spin the rear in the wet at the last round, we just couldn't get the power down quick enough!!

We can usually race for a complete weekend for 200 split between the 4 rider team.

Its the cheapest form of road racing

Ahh so that's why. Sounds like a fun thing to do only 50 per weekend, lots of crashes and all :rollin:

If you are fairly close come up and have a look, there are lots of teams on the look out for new riders!

You never know you may enjoy it...!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o"> )

Hehe, sounds cool but im going to a truck fest thingy this weekend, sound like moped mayhem would be a cool thing to watch somtimes though, can just see it now people battling it out on there RS50's at 70mph :rollin: seems like a preitty strange bike to pick, i have a road stock derestricted one and the slowness is quite annoying :-p a KTM EXC125 left me for standing

05-30-2003, 05:12 AM
Yes I know Darrell, I buy a lot of my bits through him, im surprised more of you lads dont know him. Hes very reasonable for new trick bits.

05-30-2003, 08:44 AM
pick up a crashed RS 50 or Derbi... like this guy said you not allowed fairings so a crashed one is ideal. The only trouble is we all live to far away from each other and from looking on the site the race seem to be nearer us, where were they near York and Lincolnshire, cant remeber the place now they did banger racing there, take it its on the old airfield....

Also the other limiting factor is i ride like a old lady :rollin:

The racing is at Elvington Airfield and they had a couple of rounds at Leconfield (the air museum)

The rest of my Team live all over the county and we just meet up at race weekends. We have a central "Pot" of cash that we all add equally too and I buy the parts that i need.

It works really well.

If you want to have a look drop me a mail

A race damaged bike would be ideal as any parts that you dont use can be Ebay'd off to raise cash for the bike.

I would suggest contacting me if you are interested as I can tell you what you are likely to need to get running

We trying to get a team together as we speak!!! From our Group The UK RS Club...

I think our plan is to come watch the next race, see what goes down etc, have a talk with some peeps etc before we commit.

Then the plan is to buy a crashed RS 50 or similar and prep it to meet all the regulation, do a race or two this year and then spec it up next year!!!

If you could email me outlining what we would realistically need etc, i would be grateful, also how long before the race do entries have to be in, or is it a hand it in on the Saturday affair???

My email is: normabramfanclub@hotmail.com
