12-11-2002, 10:58 PM

Here in Belgium, you can only get insurance for a moped when you're under 16. So my rs is only allowed to do 45kph, but of course it can do a lot faster. But its this cheap because of the fact they have to be restricted....

12-14-2002, 12:30 PM
I guess they're only allowed to go 45km/h in UK too... ?
Anyhow I live in finland and have under 100 too... it's the full package, except for personal injuries

I pay 1970 euros for third party only in ireland on an rs50!!!!!!! Im 18 and thats in the country........for dublin it would be about 50 percent more than that. Im heading over to university in bristol next year..........anybody got an idea what i can expect to pay over there?? (1970 euros=1250 pounds sterling.)

12-31-2002, 05:12 PM
JEESUS! 1970 euros ?!?! that's about the price I paid for my bike!! holycow, that's alot for insurance<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

kiki is that fully comp, coz at 18 n that pruce is a rip! where ya go with bennetts?

01-01-2003, 10:48 AM
No its not fully comp.........that is third party only and does not cover fire or theft. Im insured with axa which is part of hibernian insurance. I feel as do many that the insurance companys in ireland are getting away with severely unjustified rates. It is pretty much the same rates for any company you try over here. Do they really think that the average damage caused on 50cc bikes by 18 year old riders per year is 1970euros.........I think its insane and the cost of insurance made me rethink biking at all....in the end the need for transport won out but hopefully i wont be paying this type of cash when i get to england.

01-05-2003, 07:58 AM
u wont be paying that over here , that price was more than fully comp for me, where in ireland are u northen area, coz then they adda trrorist insurance :S, ohh and OOPIN were not meant to go over 45kph too :P

Man, am I lucky my insurance for my 2001 RS50 is only $38 a year. At first I though my insurance agent made a mistake but in the end that was what they were charging me. I pay more for my registration which is about $68 a year.:D
But on the other hand, I pay $800 a year for my 2001 Ducati 748.
