So I recently had the thermostat replaced, go out riding today with some friends.
The bike is running well. The bike temp was hovering around 163 F while cruising on the freeway. This is a little lower than I remember it being, it was usually around 174-180F when getting good airflow, steady freeway cruising....

We finally get into some twistys and there is a straightaway (w/dotted yellow) that we go to pass some slower moving cars.

As soon as I give the bike some gas, the temp reading on the dash immediately goes to 129 degreed F ?! It moves up to 131-F and then stays there. It would occasionally go up to 132-133.
Now the bike doesn't feel like it is overheating (thankfully, no coolant pissing out) so I let it cool down to 96-F and then decide to call it a day and come home while my buddies go do breakfast.
The bike temp never registered above 131-132-F on the entire way home (by way of the dealer) to show them what the bike is doing.

I think it may be electrical?? bad dash pod? coolant temp sensor? bad "new" thermostat?
Now the low fuel light pretty much stays on all the time, it's been that way since I got it. This is fairly minor compared to the temp situation.

guess who I'm calling tomorrow.....

Sounds like the new t-statt is hung open. Which dealer do you deal with? I am having charging problems with my bike and the dealer(good timez) says there is a 2-3 week waiting period and if I need parts will be another 3 months from Italy at least thats what happened on the parts last time.....Tim
Guess I could strap a car battery to the pillion seat:)

Yup,
GTimes.....wtf....2/3 weeks I can kinda (maybe) see but 3 months for parts from Italy....that's inexcusable.
I was thinking that it may be the thermostat too, but it was just replaced?? hmmmm....

Have you called Aprilia US yet? After I called them things started moving forward a bit faster.

I am considering taking the bike to a dealer in the bay area. Don't have any names or numbers yet.

Can anyone recommend a dealer or more importantly can you recommend who to stay away from.
As with medicine, sometimes you want a specialist.

I still have the warrenty but having the bike down that long will kill me. I will keep tabs on this post for word on a dealer in S.F. area since I am in Fairfield now. I will more than likely fix myself I have fabed electrical and electronic parts in the past.
