View Full Version : Track Fairings '13 RSV4 ??

Apparently Armour Bodies does not manufacture race fairings for the 13 RSV4 - kinda surprising. Can anyone recommend quality race fairings so I don't have to mess up stock plastic in a crash?
I'm also gonna look at rear-sets, if any want to share opinions on those. I like Vortex price/value point, have them on other bikes, but am open if there's a reason to spend lots for for whatever benefits.

Nevermind...I decided to trade my '13 for a new '17, problem solved, more power and many new tech gadgets to enjoy. Someone surely makes nice fairings for a '17 anyway.

Same options for 17’ as 13’.
Here are the options I know of:
CRC Racing
eBay - brand unknown
I’ve used the top 3 brands and prefer the top 2 because they are not a one piece tail. Not a fan of the one piece because they are a hassle getting them on and off and hard not to scratch the tank paint.

Oh and I like the Giamoto rear sets. Decent price, great looking, good adjustability, and great quality.

So I decided to keep my '13 RSV. I'm not racing and don't really "need" to pay $10k extra for a down blipper, fancy display which does nothing to enhance track speed, and a few extra horsepower that does. I'm a slower A rider or one of fastest in B, so I can still pass plenty of guys around the outside on my '13. I'll wait until the new bikes depreciate like a rock, which they do - despite being outstanding rides.

If you are still looking for track fairings, I recommend MotoXpricambri. I ordered their economy painted flat black fairings last month and got them about 3 weeks later. Fit is excellent. Paint quality is better than I expected, given the low price.

I took mine to the track for the first time yesterday, and added some more OEM decals today.

I've been eyeing the -exact- same set up with mine, I was wondering if the OEM decals would fit and it seems they do! Thanks for posting the pics! Does the OEM windscreen fit?

You should get carbon swingarm and frame covers (I got from Carbon2 UK) and tank sliders. Is that the stock seat and tail?

Yes, stock seat and tail. (I haven't had time to swap those out yet). My bike is a '17RR. I ordered the matte black fairings for that bike, but the ones I received said "09-14 RSV4" inside of them. The windscreen for the upper needs to be the Gen 1 windscreen. OEM or aftermarket, as long as it's the earlier years' windscreen style.

The OEM decals do largely fit. Notice that the hole in the 'A' red side decals don't quite line up in the correct spot. I used a Harbor Freight circle punch to cleanly punch out a new hole for my fastener. I also ordered an OEM front fairing decal and it doesn't appear to quite line up properly either. I haven't tried installing it yet, but I simply eyeballed it. I have since ordered a front fairing decal from a '13 Factory, so I'll wait to see how that one lines up when I receive it.

Thanks. Figures it would need the older Gen decals if they made them for the older models. Looking forward to some more pics. I'm planning to get everything done over winter (here) so still in the planning stages. Did you have any trouble with the air intake ducts?

Did you have any trouble with the air intake ducts?

None at all. The upper mates with the air ducts PERFECTLY. I've had the entire set of fairings on/off 7 times already, and each time the upper mates with the air ducts perfectly. They're secured nice and snug. Very happy about that.

I've got my set and busy doing the fitting, the seat is a challenge, not sure how to secure the seat... anyway I'll post in the other thread... but wanted to ask if you had to remove your sidestand to fit the bellypan?

If you possible can, do try to get 2015-onwards shape fairings. They are taller and wider and are a definite improvement.

Without doubt the best race fairings are sharkskinz.
I’ve had them all and the sharkskinz are so much better.

Racers edge also look great but you can only get them if you live in Australia.

I already have these:

Although the seat is different to what's pictured...
