Hi All,

I have just purchased a 18 RF, deal (really good deal....) on a new 18 bike. Pick the bike up on 9 th of March.

I will mainly ride it on track along with my 17 R6 race bike, I run race pattern shift. Is it an easy switch to reverse the gears?

I shall write a few words of comparison as I ran a HP4 track bike for 4 years which gave faultless mega performance. Anyone else made a switch from a BMW?

cheers

Greg

Greg.

The simplest option is to buy from the dealer a new selector, this is simple as removing the old one, single bolt plus the toe piece, then reinstall with a little locktight.

this oem option is about 250Ä, which is expensive for what it is, about half the price of reasets

however, rearset options are slightly limited for the 2017 et plus models as the rear brake switch needs to operate otherwise is screws with the ABS/cruise control.

you canít just mechanically flip the fulcrum arm over like what you may have done for the R6, as you have the shifter up and down, the pressure switch needs to see a pull action on downshifts and push on upshifts

hopefully this aprilia race PDF link works for you.

I just made an adapter from a scrap piece of aluminum I found. It works great and cost free dollars.

Thanks Guyís

Rsnet, this is what I need. Yes expensive for what it is......I donít want to fit rearsets as apart from maybe a full exhaust system Iíll keep it stock and it was also a pain on the R6.
ps your English is good for someone in France !

AF1 also has the FlyHammer GP shift for a lot less coin. I used this one before getting rears sets and I can say that it is a well made lever.

Well, I had a similar setup, but that wasn't healthy for my riding shoes.
In the end, had to buy rear sets, went for the ligtech's black ones (not ones with carbon).

I tried a set of Lightechs like these, but I found the shift throw to be too long and there was no practical way to shorten the throw. I am now running a set of Ebay, Sato knockoffs. I use a similar solution to RSV4's with a plate to move the attach point for the shift rod moved further from the pivot point of the lever. I've used these for over two years now and am really happy with them. Here's a photo.
