Heys guys,

i have an rsv4 aprc r, usually used on track only, i was using motul 15w50 previously as agip was not available in my country, agip recommends 5w40 which i started using and since then i have always been adding 150 ml oil after racing for 300kms, our country temperatures are always between 30 to 40 degrees Celsius, i am assuming the oil burns of faster due to the climatic conditions, should i shift back to the motul 300v 15w50.......

5w40 would be ok in winter, but summer at 30-40C and a track day, no way. 15w50 is the go. I wouldn't go any lower than 10w50.

The 10W versus 15W isn't going to make any difference in a track day is it? It's the viscosity when cold and he lives in a hot climate as well.

I had good results with Agip 4T Racing. Motul, I found, used oil between services. Putoline was good. I now use Ravenol 10W50 for road use and Ravenol 10W60 for track use (their full synth motorcycle stuff, of course)

It's a brag post in disguise because he can ride enough to need to change oil while we look at our bikes trapped in the garage.
