So I went to see my dealer about something else, and, he checks the system and tells me oh, btw, there is a recall on your bikes, says the dash software requires update. I asked what exactly, as I didn't get official letter, he says, I don't know and it doesn't say, just that the (quick) software update on the dash must be carried out.

Anyone knows what's the story with that dash software ... ? I wonder what was / will be fixed with the update. (May be something I want ... )

Mine is RSV4RR 2017 (= US 2018).

Maybe your bike never got the dash update that was issued not long after release in 2017.

Also '17 AU/Euro is same as '17 USA.
Was only the '15/'16/'16.5 they cheated on.

I see. What was in that update ? I recall someone on the forum saying there was a dash update to make MECU (multimedia ECU ) work with dash, but, my MECU works fine.

Anyway, I will find out next week I guess.

Then you probably have the original update.

Possible that there is a new update & you are first to know about it.

The dash update for the V4MP came out more than a year ago. I had my done last year with the brembo brake recall in February of 2018. I'm curious to know if this update is something eles.

You could try entering your VIN at http://static.piaggio.com/recall/form-piaggio_en.html

When the brake recall was on, it showed my bike as involved in the recall & did so for 4 months after I had the recall done, however, now it shows no recalls pending on my VIN.

Tried, nothing. May be they will give a code or smth for the requested 'recall'. He did say it's non-critical, not like the brakes one we had.

The dash update also helps those who had the issue of the bike not calibrating

If my memory is correct, dash update was released in July 2018.

You will have the latest dash update if when you switch on power every light comes on such as indicators, high beam and warning lights as in this picture

My update got delayed, probably till next week. Only got minor extra info: it affects not just rsv4, a range of apes, and this code is next to this "recall" on the system: psb22. It may not mean anything at all outside the specific dealer internal system.
Anyway, hopefully will get it updated next week.

Ok, so I got the update.. I don't see so far anything different at all, I don't know if version is displayed on the dash anywhere. Also, the invoice or job description done just says Update.. .(poor :/ ).

The technician doing the work said that, from memory, the update was to version 1.5. What was fixed I have no idea..

So far I only checked that my V4 app still works over bluetooth the same.

When you turn the key does your dash light up like above picture, if yes update done, if not update not done.

It does, I'm still curious about what exactly was updated.

Maybe it's not a recall, but more of a update. Recall would suggest it's a safety issue and NHTSA or whatever it's called, is involved.

I'm not in US mate, AU. But yea, the shop said its "non-critical" , affecting range of models.

Anyway, don't care much now as long as all still works same.

Same deal. Typically won't be labeled a recall unless it's a safety issue.
