This may, or may not be the right place to ask, however, I notice that rotax make a reasonably powerfull single cylinder 250 2 stroke engine. Does any one know if any body has fitted this to a rs125 frame before, or how different the engine is to the rotax 125? I love the handling on my younger brothers 125 but it's way down on power to what i'm used to. Thanks.

yep, it can be done, if you look around the web there is a couple of pages and one where the guy does it step by step, but still down on hp over a stock rs250, what about a Pollini 150cc big bore kit and a pipe, altered timing and a air filter, that might be much easier and cheaper?? is it derestricted.? :D

I put the same post on the 125 board if you wanna look.
I don't suppose you can remember any of those sites can you?
I ride a gsxr1100 at the moment, but have bought a rs125 (2000 model) dirt cheap. It handles so well and is so much fun I can't really sell it on, so I need to make it faster, without adding to much weight and spoiling it.

The motor is the Rotax 257 Enduro motor. It is very popular in karting circles so there are lots of parts and pipe designs out there (you will have to either make or get made a pipe.) It makes about 55 bhp and is a total riot in a 125 frame.
