So I have mentioned to anyone who asked that there is something unique and oddly satisfying about the Benelli 302cc parallel twin motor...ran across these files the other day and it all started to make perfect sense, the reason it sounds and rides and revs the way it does it has a true 360 degree firing order, both pistons rise and fall at same time, a "twingle" in older parlance but with a heavy duty counter balancer. Love this basic design for small bore twins, there is so much potential to exploit an engine like this, stock it may not be stupid powerful but the potential is definitely there with a little creativity or boost, plus the sound is just fantastic.

My 1950 Sunbeam S8 500cc twin is like that.
I'll have to go and seek out a Benelli dealer, I've seen a test ride of the Benelli 300 on youtube.

I would so love to turbocharger equip one of these. So much stupid fun potential in such insanity plus relatively easy plumbing.

I read that Benelli is making a 300cc sportier bike for other markets (as well as 650cc twins which were shown at EICMA).

As far as small bikes go, the 302R could be good fun.
