Hi there,
Anyone used the VHM cyclinder heads (domed) before. Just want to know what Squish you ended up with a .3 base gasket. I have been told by the supplier that a .3 base gasket will get close to .8 = 1mm squish.
What have you guys found out while using these cyclinder heads.
Thanks
Chooky

Have you measured what the squish is at this moment on your bike? Sounds like a pretty bold statement! Mine is 2,2mm, when I look at what they say at VHM the flat head has these specs:

Piston Height -1.00mm Volume 11.70 cc Squish 1.00mm

If I calculate the piston height -1 mine would be 1,2mm so the 1.00mm squish is not true. It's mechanics, measuring is king.

I don't own one btw, thinking about it tho but everything is related to machining tolerances. This includes tool wear, environmental influences on material etc on everything that is on your bike. Aprilia has a quite high squish tolerance when manufacturing to be safe and there are slight differences. It is never set in stone what it will do on your bike.
