my son has just bought his first bike which is a euro spec 2006 rs125,he has bought 2010 bodywork and instruments as he prefers the look.the 2010 instruments are totally different in all ways and i was wondering if anyone who has carried out this mod could help.
i appreciate that the wiring may be slightly different on u.s. bikes but a starting point would help me immensely.

2006 and 2010 should be the same, or is yours a old style bike has the rear seat unit got a nice round shape to it?

old style but with new style bodywork and hopefully new style instruments,if I can't sort the instruments i'll buy him a koso unit.

Not a str8 swap even for the body work need a lot of parts,

I belive that you would need a full loom clocks cdi box, but the new bikes make bit less power then the old style bikes and belive its down to clocks and cdi.

I know on the new shapes how i always knew was if the clocks say 12k that bike will have 28bhp say, if they say 14k on them has around 22bhp. Would buy koso clocks if i was you.

Well you must off had all the items, as you need front rear subframe, oil tank under tray, both lights, all little bits that add up.

If want new shape look should of brought new shape bike been easyer

he paid 350 for a very good runner and 300 for a complete body set, you're not going to get a new shape one for that.

i have had a look at the wiring diagrams and have decided to go with the koso unit, the later instruments he bought turned out to be off a late rs50 so were no good anyway.

i have now been informed that the late rs50 instruments will work,i fail to see how as my sons speedo was cable driven and the 50 unit has an electronic drive.do the speedo drives swap over?

The shape body work which your swapping to also has a speedo like the rs50

For the 2006 onwards rs125 speedo, runs from a senser on the back end which bolts to the caliper hanger
