Hello everybody,
I'm new here, of course..... Well, I'm military and just got a 2012 Dorsoduro 1200. I want to take this baby to the U.S. It's euro spec and customs just need paper work with info if the bike conforms with EPA and DOT. To get the bike in U.S. Ground will be no problem because I will take it with my household goods as a track bike. Now and here is the issue, it's possible to get this bike register back home or its mission impossible?

I think it depends on the state you are. Here in Idaho getting bikes registered and plated is easy.....California....not so much.

CA will require all the emission Labels be on the bike.

prob mission impossible to even import.

That German bike will not have all the proper DOT stampings, VINs, and DOT equipment to be a 100% legal USA bike.

If it was like 25 years old, you could get an exemption for it being old.

I don't think it would be impossible if the engine and exhausts is the same.
I've seen this done with military personnel occasionally with cars.
