Hi there

Looking to get latest remap on my 2011 Dorso 1200 any one out there with any experience of what if any difference in performance this will make (I also have standard cans as I feel they are the only ones that feel the rear end !!

Hi Eddie

Im still looking into this for my 2011 dorso 1200. I have ordered the cables to allow my bike to be plugged into a laptop and i am going to try and figure out what map i have on mine.
I am then going to contact the local dyno centre and see about getting this remapped.
As far as i can make out by reading anything i can find on dorsoduro ecu tuning etc there seems to be no know known map that works best. So for this reason i think a custom map on the dyno would be the best option. This will hopefully be done by the end of july. (i work away alot)

I will let you know how i get on.

Hi Muz
sounds interesting and very complicated !! I assume you will new able to copy current map ?

had mine checked out at a Apriia specialist in Tamworth today as have issue with ABS and TC dropping out , turns out break in wire to read sensor and a second fault with front sensor annoying as oniy had bike a fortnight although do have warrantry thank goodness.

Ad regards napping they only had the one ??? so I'm no help love the bike though standard apart from crash bobbins all round and tail tidy it's a beast !!!, great to hear how you get on

cheers Ed

Im going to use software just to check there is no fault codes before i book it in for the re-mapping and leave the rest to the professionals.
Good job you have the warranty.

Regarding the ATC how do you switch this on as i believe my bike should have it but i could not find this in my menu i can only see the ABS. I have been away alot since i got the bike so really looking forward to gettig home next week to get back on it and and figure it out.

How do you find the milage? i can only get 80miles out of a tank, i know this because i ran out of fuel. whoops.I

will keep you updated on the mapping situation.

just read back my last post , must spell check before I send lol

The ATC switch is accessed through the mode switch on left. It should come up when you scroll through the menus before or after ABS if you have it. If it comes up you then press mode switch down to highlight ATC and then go left or right through 3 levels or you can switch it off.

Not sure if all UK bikes had ABS and TC, based on what I have read the ones with a belly pan have ABS.

I finding the mileage pretty awful the fuel light coming on around 75 miles and thats without canning it, just have to live with it I suppose, how long did the reserve last , should be 5 litres left I believe but don't want to test it.

Bought the bike from your neck of the woods Drysdale Motorcycles in Perth, I believe they are a KTM dealer.

Cool i will check the for the ATC, i do have ABS but will have to double check if the ATC comes up in my menu.
Nice i looked at that one before i bought mine from shirlaws in aberdeen.
I only get 60 before the light comes on, I got a further 20 miles so 80 miles all in, i know some else and he runs out at 100 miles, tank empty. so it seems it def needs set up properly as i am getting 15-20 miles less then other dorso riders.

Thanks for the info im home next week and will do some digging into my bike and see what i come up with. I will keep you posted.

So you have only had yours a month or so then ??

What made yo go for the other one , I won't be offended lol , send a pic

06-11-2015, 04:28 PM
Yeah i got mine in april, i went for the other one as it already had the MIVV cans, an evo tech tail tidy and 1900miles on the clock.
The one at drysdales was def next on my list if the shirlaws one sold before i got it.

I have since added, R&G radiator/intercooler guards, short gold levers and oxford heated grips. o and a usb charging point handy for charging my phone on the go282229.282227282228

I had a 2011 1200 up until a few months ago, when I got it the mpg was awful and the throttle control was snatchy, a stock aprilia nmap update was available dated I think 2012, I got this loaded at the dealer in kings lynn and it transformed the bike, 100 miles on the tank and much easier to ride, only cost an hours labour, if updates are done by a main dealer they stick a sticker on the battery cover under the seat, either way an Aprilia dealer should be able to help

Hi Muzz

Looks good, don't blame you going for that one if similar money with the cans and low mileage. Mine came with tail tidy (they need these more than anything I think as they look pretty fat arse without one !!) and crash bungs all round although the bar ends do make it even wider.

All the stuff you have added are on my list just waiting for the dust to settle after purchase with wife lol !!, how did you get on fitting power point and heated grips to battery as it looks like there is little or no room to do any thing ??

Do you know Drysdales as I am still waiting for a ABS and speed sensor cable as one on bike had been cut and keeps knocking out ABS and TC, Id pop in but I'm in Derby and whilst they seem concerned not a lot seems to be happening re cable.

Would add a couple of pics but can't it won't let me drag and drop etc ??

Hi Trainman

Did yours have aftermarket cans if it did it might have had a re map which based on what I have read can make them run rich and guzzle fuel ?? might be your problem swell Muzz but I'm only going off whats been said on here.

Hi Eddie

I know a couple of people who have bought KTM's from drysdales i think you just have keep chasing them they are quite a busy wee place. Sorry i cant be more help on that. They are abt 150 miles from me.

Hi Eddie

My bike was in the garage the last time i was home for a week. It got new plugs and a new air filter as the airfilter seemed to be black with the carbon unsure how this is the case but it was sorted under warranty so did not argue.
The garage could do nothing with the mapping as it is a closed loop ECU and they had no kind of software to do any sorts of mapping.
I am still looking into the mapping and have found a garage in dundee (Skinners) who use to be and aprilia deeler so this will be my next port of call on my next trip at home. (3 Weeks time). I think all i will be able to do with them is find out what map i have on my bike.

The cables i ordered for my bike arrived but i did not have the time to try out the guzzi diag software to see what info this tells me.

How are you getting on with yours?
