Has anyone ever fitted traction control to an ABS model 1200 dorsoduro? Or does anyone know what is required to do this? It might not even be possible!

Thanks

My 1200 DD has ABS and ATC (Aprilia Traction Control) as standard.

Mine is only an ABS model as i have no option for the ATC in my menu. I wasnt sure if ATC could be added after, ECU updated and maybe a sensor or two added.

I think i am being rather stupid with the traction control, Can anyone help me switch it on as i think it is switched off. I just want to make sure i do have the option.

I Know you double tap the start button to switch modes R, T and S this works fine.

When i scroll through the menu usuing the button on the left side of the handle bars all i can see is an ABS option.
Would someone be so kind to point me in the right direction for the traction control??

Cheers
Murray

You really don't need traction control on this bike. The power delivery can be as wild or as tame as your wrist dictates. It is pretty much useless when riding in the dry as the TC will also control wheelies. The problem with this is if you accelerate a little too hard you will wheelie, but the TC will cut the power rather abruptly in order to stop the wheelie.

If your bike has TC and ABS they will both be in the menu next to each other.

Bumping an old thread because I have the same question. In looking at the parts diagrams/listings, I don't see a difference in the ECU, or dash, wiring harness, or anything...
Any ideas where the magic comes from?
ABS system?

The Marelli 7SM has everything you need inside ... If you have ABS, you have sensors on both wheels ... I think physically you do not need anything else, but I do not know if software level is possible ...

having had a Dorsoduro 1200 with no ATC or ABS and then moving to a caponord, you really don't gain anything with traction control besides ruining all the fun. I never once found a need for ATC when I owned the dorso, but ABS really would have been nice.
