I don't know how Aprilia numbers their bikes but if they use the same system as most manufacturers than my bike is the 47th dd1200 made.My date is marked 3/11 and my serial number is 47.How many of these bikes were made?Anyone with a 2011 have a lower number? Also what do some of you guys with 2013s have for numbers?Even anyone with a 12/11 or 11/11 or 12/13 something like those dates, the numbers if they go in order should give an idea how many were made.

65 thats interesting that some of the first 100 made are here in Canada, don't know what it means but I would have thought they'd have been sold in Europe. It's the last 4 numbers of your serial number like mine is 0047 and the date should be on the same tag(front of frame right hand side)at least thats where mine is.Thanks guys.......

I have 008. The 8th 2011. Prior to my purchase of it, AF1 did all the mods and upkeep on my Ebony DD. It is everything my Ivory 2012 DD wants to grow up to be (awesome)!!!

If you look at the metal tag on the frame on the rear brake side of the bike you should see the month/year at the top right of the tag mine says 03/11 so march 2011 if I can get an idea of the month for the lowest number(the last 2 numbers of the serial num. is the production num.) and the the month the highest was made in a year it should give a idea how many DD120s were made....thank

No sorry there's not any way to figure it out unless I can get the month of manufacture with the number and year and I'm not having much luck with that.

OK here goes the I heard it from a friends brother who knew someone........ A recent CL ad for a 1200 stated he was able to talk to the Aprilia importer/distributor and was told only 83 made it to the states...maybe +/- a few as my memory is not so good. But I do remember it was well under 100. Still waiting for mine to get shipped to me. When I do get it I'll post up the date of manufacturer.

Just found this ad claiming only 63 1200s imported into the US. Maybe one of those things that just get passed around and it becomes accepted as truth because everyone else says/have heard the same thing.......kinda like global warming. :cathat:

What got me thinking about it was I bought mine at the largest Aprilia dealer in western Canada and they only sold 6 (thats 2011,2012 and 2013) all together, also if you look at the numbers posted they are low.Less than a hundred in the States would not surprise me and I would think less than half that here in Canada.I talked to the owner of the biggest aftermarket dealer here and he only knows of one other besides mine here and they are huge Italian bike fans at that shop.I think the DD1200 is going to turn out to be one of the rarest big production bikes around.

I have only ever seen 3 other 1200 DD's here in SA.
two on the road (one black one like mine and the other was white) and one in a dealership (black and red).
Seen plenty 750 DD's thiugh.

We ride pretty rare bikes, wherever we are in the world.

Does anyone have any idea how many 1200 DD's were produced by the nice folks in Noale?
