While reading and watching info about the DD1200 I came across a lot of comments about the seat.I liked "it's a vinyl covered 2by4",that's what a tester on youtube thought.Me I think hemorrhoid hammer is fitting. What about you,got a couple of words to describe that sorry piece of work aprilia calls a seat.

That's funny if you stepped outside for fresh air here today you might drown. It's pouring down here. This is not the great white north it's the great wet northwest.

When I first saw the Dorso the very first thing I thought of was... " What a fucking shame, such a great bike ruined by a ball busting seat". If you could fit the new Capos seat on it then you would have something.

I got my DD1200 at a bike show in Jan.of 2014 and they agreed to store it for me to March so after being on here I got some extras for it before I had it home one being a gel seat so I have only ridden it with the gel.First time I burnt through a full tank of fuel my ass hurt so bad it was painful to sit on the sofa.I sure hoping the lamb skin I bought works. It seems to but I haven't had a long ride yet.I'm a hard core sport/streetfight rider and to be honest I feel like a bit of a dork with a lamb skin mat on my seat but if I thought it would make that seat better I'd wear a pink toto. The DD1200 is an amazing bike but the seat is a torture rack. And that's the "comfortable" gel one I'm talking about wouldn't even try the stock one.

Exactly true. Can't wait for the sunny weather to come back. I still ride if it's not too foggy or raining bullets. But when it comes to the seat, I firmly believe that the seat never breaks in, however your ass breaks into the seat. I was riding 140miles round trip to work and back for quite some time and after the first few weeks I didn't have any more butt pains. But I guess if you don't ride as much as I do (because I'm crazy for commuting on a 1200) your ass will never experience the conformation. (I have the stock seat, non-gel)

The gel seat is better than stock but not by much. I just picked up a pair of gel bicycle shorts. We will see this spring if that helps.

Just got done riding from Daytona to Key West and up to Tampa. I have to say I'm glad I need to stop for gas every 80 miles. The seat on my DD1200 is worthless.

Anyone interested in selling their 1200 seat? I have a DD750, and hear the 1200 is a little better.

Everything I have read says the 1200s seat is much better than the 750s seat.....even better than the 750 gel seat. FWIW I got the gel seat for my 2009 750.......hardly any difference and not worth the $. At least they are reasonably priced.

2014 DD750 seat is the same as the 1200 except for the vinyl cover pattern.
I know because I bought a DD1200 seat very shortly after getting my 2014 DD750 ABS and reading how much better the DD1200 seats were.
I now have both an almost unused 2014 DD750 seat AND a DD1200 seat that are exactly the same in thickness, density, etc.
As I said the ONLY difference is the cover texture.

I have a 750 Gel seat for sale. It's a little over 1 year old always garaged when not ridden. I'm in Oz and can ship if you like.
