Does anyone know where/if I can get a service manual for my bike? I saw a softcopy for sale on Ebay once, but wasn't sure if it was just the same thing as the manual that comes with the bike.

I was really despret for one a while back, when my scoot stopped working. I asked in this forum, and someone said that scooter-centre.com used to sell them, I checked and they have stopped. I then gave my local dealer a ring, and he said he cant get one anywhere for me, because they dont make them. I phoned them agian another day to ask about another matter, and another bloke told me that I would have to go to an Aprilia factory outlet to ask them for one, the nearest one to me is in like Italy!!! He also said that if I put myself out and tried hard to get one then I may even be able to download one of the internet, but I havent seen a site which does that since. So I gave up, and I have just been relying on a little thing called guessing, when woeking on my bike, luck comes into it as well!!!

Oh yeah, I also gave HAYNES a ring but they dont even do them, mainly because its too much of a complicated bike for them to study.

If you just want the manual so you can see how things are put together, go here:

http://www.aprilia.no/spareparts.asp

This site has diagrams on how everything goes together... There isn't any tech info, but you can get most of that from this forum if you have any questions or problems.

I just bid on and won a shop manual on e-bay, offered on cd.

Proviso 1) I haven't received it yet.
Proviso 2) I'm not sure if this is a bootleg copy or not....it would bother some people, and some it wouldn't.

Cost, about $13.00 including shipping. I'll report back after I have received this.

It wasn't this one was it?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7904190239&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT)

Cos that's the one I was wondering about. Wasn't sure if it was just a copy of the manual you get with the bike or not.

Yes, that was the auction. I bought my scoot used and didn't even get an owner's manual with it. I finally found and downloaded an owners manual from the internet. It only shows (very) basic maintenance, how to remove body panels, change bulbs etc. and a lot of CYA advice on riding. It was something on the order of 100 pages.

My hope (based on the cover, title, and length of the offered manual) is that this will be more of a shop manual with usable technical information. I won't be able to tell you anything definitely until I receive it. If you want to e-mail me in 2 or 3 weeks, I can give you a report.

Sweet, will do.

Can't believe how hard it is to get hold of decent manuals. Probably cos if we did, we'd have no need for mechanics....

You can purchase workshop manuals here:https://ssl20.mysecureserver.com/scootopiaonlinecom/shop/manuals.asp?t=4
Aprilia workshop manuals for sale (https://ssl20.mysecureserver.com/scootopiaonlinecom/shop/manuals.asp?t=4)

Everyone was complaining of the high cost of Aprilia service manuals so Aprilia USA started printing them in the US and I think everyone will be happy with the new prices. I still have some of the Italian ones in stock they come loose leaf in a bag and only fit into 4 ring binders. The new US printed ones are spiral bound.

Tim,

Aprilia posts all of their user's manuals online for free public download here:http://www.serviceaprilia.com/public/lum/index.asp

As for workshop/service manuals they are not available for free download and posting for download or copying would be a copyright violation!

Nonetheless, the workshop manuals and even the fuel injection service book is available for dissemination for anyone who cares to take the risk.

Hi, I have visited that aprilia.no site to have a look for some part numbers. The parts which I need are:

Pin and back brake spring...8113871...NOK - 63.07

Brake pads....8113869...NOK - 371.62...P.Code IAO7F

Gear housing tranny cover...3H2A000152...NOK - 897.6...Status=CS Alternative...5RHR000227

So, now that I have the part numbers and info (even though I havent a clue what NOK, etc means) how do I get the parts, via the website, or take the numbers to my dealer or www.aprilia.com or what?

Cheers, because I really need these parts ASAP.

You can take the serial numbers to your Aprilia dealer, and then he will order it from Aprilia. As to the meaning of NOK: It is the payment in Norway... Norwigian Chrownes. It is like DKK: Danish crownes :)
