SDK 187 brought up something I've been curious about. How many DD1200s were brought over and where are they at.I have never seen another one on the road and when people ask me about my bike and I tell them Aprilia I get Ive heard of them, when I say Dorsoduro they get that far away look and shake their head.
So how about a simple count of what you have and where and put the NEXT in order number at the start to make it easy:
1/ 2011 DD1200 Vancouver Canada

2/2012 DD 1200, Sartell, Minnesota.

I've never seen another either, but I know there are a few in MN. They are going to be clustered around dealers I'm guessing.

1/ 2011 DD1200 Vancouver Canada
2/ 2012 DD 1200, Sartell, Minnesota
3/ 2014 DD 1.2, La Gaude, France

Many Shivers and DD 750 here and a few 1200, but I think it's because I live at only 50km from Italy.

254996 Here's something you might find interesting.I copied this some time ago it was one of the things I read that made me chose the DD1200.I'm not a fan of boring bikes but each to his own.I have to say though I'm surprised 58 views and only 3 DD1200s,you guys shy, hiding from the police there has to be more owners than 3 out of 58 people on a page dedicated to the bike..........

9/ 2013 DD1200 (black) at a local Ape dealer here in South Africa, also "old stock" and for a massive bargain. I could not let this one slip past me after having bad luck with an SXV550.

I just found out my 2011 has a pin hole casing leak. They're going to cover replacing the motor, under warranty. Did they do that for you or replace the entire bike?

My bike was the first one to have the casing leak, so they did not offer to replace the motor as the local shop could not figure out the problem. The dealer actually shipped my bike back to Aprilia US headquarters for trouble shooting. At that point it had been about five months in the shop and I got a lawyer, who got me my money back. I did use my money to buy a 2012 Dorso that has been totally awesome and I am glad I stuck with Aprilia, even though they pissed me off with their lack of responsiveness on the original engine issue.

There was another forum member with a black 2011 who had the same issue as us and Aprilia did the motor swap. I do believe they extended his warranty for an additional two years, so I would push that pretty hard. Good luck, I hope they get it resolved and you are happy with the bike.

Thanks for the info. I'm happy with the bike and happy with Aprilia's quick response. Right now I'm waiting for the motor to come in and then my tech to schedule time for the swap. Till then I'll continue to ride it as the leak is minimal.
