Hi, does anyone have any good suspension settings for the non-factory model?
I saw the thread by solo about settings he used for a track day but he was on the factory bike.
Also, in his description of settings I think he referenced both the standard and ohlins shocks settings.
I weigh about 215 and 6'2". I saw the owners manual settings of turning everything down (stiff) and then opening
Preload to 5 protrusions / Rebound damping to 1.5 turns out - Compression damping to 1 turn out &
Fork protrusion to 1. Does that seem right? I turned down my front preload to about 4 protrusions and it seemed very stiff.
Any help or advice would be good. Thanks!

There is no 'set' setting for each bike - it all depends on rider weight, gear weight, riding style, riding conditions, etc.

What you want to do primarily is set sag for your weight. Start here:

A quick tutorial by Keith Code on how to set your sag can be found here...

Suspension settings used by Sport Bike magazine when they test rode every bike under the sun can be found here...

I would caution that the sport bike test rider was probably significantly lighter than you, but it should enough to get you started. Suspension is ultimately about feel - your feel. Take notes on any changes you make otherwise you will cross yourself up in no time.
