Welcome! Have a good first ride - some fantastic roads lie between Sydney and Canberra.

One of the best mods is going down one tooth on the front sprocket. It makes the bike way easier around town.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. 461km on day 1, probably 350 of those in rain, Sydney-Wollongong(via RNP)-Nowra-Bateman's Bay-Canberra. Grinning the whole way :-)

Have to agree about the high gearing - is a 16T available from Aprilia, or do I have to go aftermarket?

I bought this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Esjot-Sprocket-Front-Sport-16T-APRILIA-Dorsoduro-750-2007-2011-/151025185109?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:AU:3160 Apparently Esjot are the OEM suppliers to Aprilia anyway.

I wrote some notes about doing it in the following thread http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?277918-rear-sprocket-model-compatability/page2

PM me if you have any questions about doing it.

Thanks for that!

I'm surprised they fitted Dunlop Qualifier tyres as standard. Will swap them for Pirelli Angel GTs currently fitted to my GSXR1100 (soon to become track-only bike).

No problem at all.

My came with Angel GT's as I bought an ex Aprilia fleet demo bike. I haven't done too much hard riding with it so far but the grip seems ok.

Quite a difference coming from ridedays and Fireblades etc :) I guess that's what getting married does to you!

I have found the qualifiers to be quite good, not sure how long they will last though.

Did Putty Rd up to Grey Gum Cafe and after a decent run really getting to know how the bike handles the bends, I'm also very pleased with the stock Dunlop Qualifiers. So much so that I've almost decided to stick with a similar tyre when it comes time. I was going to go with a sport tourer (had Metzeler Z8's on my old FZ1 and thought they were great) but I may now stick with a sportier tyre.

Scraped centre stand through a mid-corner dip, 45km/h LH bend with pillion this evening. Mental note taken for next time...

I'm the same as Nolz, I was originally planning on changing but I quite like the Qualifiers. It looks like I'll be getting decent mileage from them so I'll probably stick with them when I change.
