this is when i picked the bike up about 5 months ago , had aarow exhaust custom rear fibreglass tail red alimium bolt kit nothing specall but i paid 350 pounds for this on ebay so was well worth it. my intentions where just to spray the fairings up and leave it but that sort of went out the window due to the condition of the frame :)

will post some more pictures up soon of what i have been up to :)

See if you can get a belly cover/engine spoiler, looks way better with that.
Also try to get higher handlebars, and a RS125 cusion that goes onto the cover of the glove compartment.

Also fabricate a bracket to suport the rear end, i mountet it so it bolts trough the undertray right where part of the tailight drops over the bolts, all you need basicly is something that holds the undertray in place so the rear end is a bit stiffer.
I also put foam padding on the insie of the glasfiber to avoid damadge if im caring a lock of something else in there and run over a bumb so it doesnt fly into the fiberglass directly.

thanks patrick much appriciated i was trying to work out away of fixing the undertray to the rear tail as once you take it of it becomes a pain in the a** to put them back on might drill 2 to 3 holes each side at the bottom that way i can drill the same holes through the edge of the undertray and bolt them up as you said for the stiffness as it dose flap about alot lol will post some more pics :)

I have these Evotech bobbins on my ZX10R and the paddock stand has chewed them up bad :( The alloy is quite soft, and the anodising is not very good. You may well find you want to change them in a few months.

strretfighter02
10-27-2013, 11:42 AM
oh ok thanks very much have you changed them then or do you know of any better ones ? as if not ill make some on the lathe thank you very much

I haven't bothered changing them yet, it's a track only bike, so the chewed up bobbins match the bashed up fairings :)

The missus has some big plastic ones (R&G I think) but these are a pain as the hooks on one of my paddock stands are too small to fit, so I have to be careful which paddock stand I use.

I can't remember what I have on my Aprilia, but they seem to be doing fine.

I have the Evotech oil filler cap for the ZX, looks trick :)

At 78 for that belly pan I wouldn't I haven't got one and I have no problems

RS_Patrick
10-28-2013, 02:11 AM
EDIT your posts instead of making new ones so fast... makes the thread easier to read and a lot easier to reply to what you posted.

You need to make your own brackets for the fairing, you can clamp those on the subframe.

If you payed 78GBP i think thats a bit much mate... you can get them cheaper new or make one out of the belly pan of a scooter.

strretfighter02
10-28-2013, 07:14 AM
Ok thanks ill have a look again it is new and theres a couple more found a brand new fibreglass one for 40 odd pounds but the fibre glass would b3 to brittle I susspose so what scooter or bike would you say to get one of as I did like the look of the new age rs ones thought it would be easyer to mount as well

Zav
10-28-2013, 07:44 AM
They fit but they look crap I have 2 of my rs and tried to fit them on my old rs and didnlt look right

RS_Patrick
10-28-2013, 04:04 PM
Oh wel, i think it looks worse with out one, and fitted them a few times on RS50's and other similar bikes.

I only fitted ready made fairings from BCD i think.

Polyester is ok also mate aslong as the coating is good, or you can aply a wrap on it wich adds extra protection against chipping

strretfighter02
10-29-2013, 03:20 AM
I think I may leave it untill ive finished as I think on some bikes they look mint and on outheres they look well shi☆

Depents on the model of it, and colour can have a huge impact on it also.

strretfighter02
10-31-2013, 06:36 AM
by huge impact do you mean the way the bike looks , not to sound like an iddiot lol ?

RS_Patrick
10-31-2013, 08:07 PM
Yeah, if you would have a yellow and black bike i wouldnt install a yellow one, but a black one.

If you do want it to have a colour than add decals in this way: http://store.factoryeffex.com/assets/images/dx1/SB_DX1_CustomLower2.jpg
I would prefer them all one colour like black or white though.

strretfighter02
11-01-2013, 08:03 AM
im with you on that one the only outher coulour on my bike bar black is red calipers and red braided brake lines and some brackets so i think ied prefer a block coulour as such like gloss black as i do like the belly pans as the do set the street fighter look of realy well in my eyes :)

Dont know what colour your gonna make it, but with the black frame and black wheels i go for all black with red decals on the belly fairing and red rimtape on the wheels, and small red with white lettering aprilia logo's on the tank.

strretfighter02
11-04-2013, 06:05 PM
i do like the sound of that !!!! might just have to give that ago will post pictures up of engine in sooon , just wodnered have you seen these before i know some people are going to go well whats the point in spending money on it but just because i have some left over so heres the links they are quick shifters and wondered if anyone has had any xperiance with them ?http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle/quickshifters/bike/aprilia/2002/rs50

RS_Patrick
11-05-2013, 04:27 AM
I wouldnt use those quickshifters mate, just use the clutch wen shifting up and down, AM6 gearbox is not suitable for stuff like that, you easly ruin it.

11-05-2013, 12:31 PM
If you have money to spend on the bike left over, sort out a decent big bore kit, 21-28mm carb, matching pipe and race crank. Dont waste money on gimmicks.

strretfighter02
11-05-2013, 05:36 PM
fair enough just wanted a second opinion , also the person who had it before me put a doppler endurance crank in it i have the reciept and invoice for it , also i had a phbn 12 and a phbn 16 carb. and the float was knackered on the phbn12 so i swaped everything out of the 16ml and put it into the 12 and then upjetted to 95 and moved the circlip on the nedle ( cant remember how much and it ran like a dream) as before it was boggy before i took it of the road i followed my mates s14 and he was doing 75 and that was on flat but admitidly this proberly isant acurate and took me a while. so i might just save my money as im looking to buy another rs as my bike before the previous owner did the converstion was and original rizla edition i bilive and i have all the original fairings.

RS_Patrick
11-05-2013, 11:27 PM
There is no Rizla RS50 edition mate, someone must have done that them selfs.

These are all the Original colours schemes: http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?83796-RS50-models-1995-2005

And then there are a few MS (RS) and Rossi identikit fairing sets also that where available, but thats it.
